People would kid me i high school about getting some gray hairs. I'd tell more than a few of them "at least i have hair to turn gray"

It does seem some people go gray younger now, or even lose their hair younger. Some people lose their hair in like their 20's. I'm kind of glad to still have mine in my mid 30's. I can't speak too soon though, my dad went bald right at 40 and as scary as it seems I'm not that far from there. Less than 6 years when I think about it, that's a scary thought. Getting old. Should probably start looking at old age homes to at least get on the list.

I started balding in my mid 20s. I was pretty upset about it for a while there, seems a really trivial thing compared to my life since. Which for my family is pretty much par. I wish I had a head of completely grey hair so no sympathy from me!

Ah, so Ryan Getzlaf is not alone.

Retired at 55, and 20 years later, lov'in it!

As for the hair, I don't care what it turns, as long as it doesn't turn loose.

I see he intends to live out his dream as a human-faced fish in the sea....

Just remember, "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave", mwahahaha.

Interesting. I doubt that would be my case. I've had gray hair since I was 20. I'm definitely less stressed at work now, but I'm no where near retirement.

I found my first gray hairs at 17...

WTF, you went grey in your 40's?!

By 40, I had more salt than pepper in my hair...and my whiskers were following along.

People would kid me i high school about getting some gray hairs. I'd tell more than a few of them "at least i have hair to turn gray"

In my mid-40's, I was pretty gray...with a mix of white hair. I developed a white (skunk) stripe almost right down the center of my head.
One day at work, I sat down to have a coffee break with my boss and some co-workers. I took off my hat...my boss said, "Holy shit! You're REALLY gray!"
Without batting an eye, I told him, "Fuck you...at least it's hair." (He was almost Kojak bald...with just a few stragglers around the sides.

As for the white stripe, some of the Mexicans I worked with called me "El Zorillo." (the skunk)

Nowadays...it's almost completely gray/white...with only a few dark hairs dotting the landscape.

Oh right I see it now that he's crossed out. Wonder what happened for him to do that.
My guess is that Tweak155 was right. Ponyo was into the WallStreetBets subreddit. He was supposedly big into Tesla stock (down 36% in the last month). Ponyo was also wanting to get in to GameStop stock (down 56% from when he wanted to get in 5 weeks ago). I wouldn't be surprised if he is taking time off to reassess his investments based on internet posts.

I hope all is well.

I figured he had already made it pretty big previously with Tesla so that anything else was a bonus, but maybe he reinvested a bunch of that money too. Hope he's doing ok as well.

I think he had cashed out quite a bit, but also at the same time, and if IIRC, he had spent the last decade or so "mostly done" with fiddling with the market, but then Tesla happened, and other things happened, and he did seem to get more and more and more busy with the market, in what would seem a very short amount of time, for someone that had been long out of it--sort of like an impulse response and maybe he thinks he got way too into it for now?

This has been a bad week for many of the stocks that (especially ponyo) had been paying attention to and playing options on. Even though he did really well over this last year, I think it's possible that he definitely started playing more heavily into options over the most recent months, perhaps exposing himself more than he had told himself that he ever would, after those dotcom days c. 2000, as he often mentioned that he "learned a lot"--won big, and also lost very big at times.

So yeah, maybe he's taking some time to re-center. Honestly, this last week looks more like a huge buying opportunity for someone like ponyo because if he does believe in the long-term bets that he kept mentioning, then a lot of those stocks are a huge bargain right now. But then if he has way too many options right now at suddenly very unfavorable conditions (Again, I still no nothing about how these work--like depending on what days they are set to exercise and if he is somehow overleveraged to some degree that this last week's action, specifically, caused a bit of hemorrhaging), I guess it could require a bit of time off to refocus. Like--he went pretty hard into VGAC two weeks ago after a couple of us chatted about it here, and it is now down about 40% since that type--he ended up tripling (or more?) his exposure within that single day, so I have no idea if that is one of the major factors....but I've actually been looking at that dip as more of an opportunity for myself; however, I just buy shares to hold and I certainly don't have ponyo money risked there (nor do I have any kind of ponyo money to risk, lol)

Anyway, I hope he's back because he's too entertaining, and I won't be able to maintain my "full ponyo" investing strategy much longer if he stops posting.
