I just feel like when people put that there that they are either begging for people to talk about what they want to be talked about or they are commanding us to respond with similar or differing opinions.

Or maybe it's because remember teachers putting that at the end of agenda's after a lecture or group assignment. I don't want to feel like I'm at work when I visit the forums. For many, this is a reading escape from work, family or other obligations we should be attending to that we obviously are not.

So yeah, Fucking Discuss.

Well, sometimes you just want a quick answer. Other times you may want a variety of input to gain more knowledge about a subject.

For example, if you're in the Digital & Video Cameras forum and you want to know if an aftermarket dSLR camera battery will work just as good as an OEM model, that's more of a Yes or No answer. But if you want to get input for what your next 50mm lens should be, that's more of a discussion because there's different brands, vintages, price points, f-stops, etc.

Or maybe you're just bored and want to talk to people online about a particular subject

I understand it helps with moderation and all..but why not redo them to make them more appropriate?

SFF? Really? Do people even know what that stands for anymore? Power supplies deserve their own forum but not cell phones? We have a L&R forum that is the trashiest, nastiest thing on the planet but we don't have a forum to discuss religion or finances without them blending in with piss jokes and Japanese Youtube Pedo videos?

Either do away with the damn things or fix them.

And give us a real mobile option. Its not like more people have cell phones than laptops or anything...
