One year ago I decided to quit my 15 year old smoking habit. I grew up in the 80s and I hung
out with the long haired kids in High School, it was "cool" to smoke back then. And after
"coolness" is gone addiction takes its hold. I wasted alot of good years but that is life.

Food does not really taste any better , but I never knew how bad I stunk until now..I can smell
a smoker from 15ft ...man I stunk! Anyways I feel much healthier overall.

Too bad so many young people are still picking up the habit, I honestly thought when I was
a teenager that smoking would be done away with by the time I was 30..I was way off, it seems
smoking is more popular then ever.

Oh well smoke away I say, earth is overcrowded as it is.

I actually got my wife to quit when we first met. She had been smoking since High School also. Now she cant stand the smell and hates it when people smoke around her. I'm really glad she quit cause It's such a disgusting habit. Kissing someone who has been smoking is the worst.

Congrats on 1 year. Doesn't sound like you'll be going back.

Thanks but it was easy as hell compared to a drug habit I kicked 10 years earlier.

Congrats! I quit about 4 years ago. Within a couple of months, I couldn't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. I would probably get sick if I smoked right now. However, I did notice that food had more flavor once I quit.

Congrats on kicking the drug habit, too.

Smoking can never produce any positive effects whatsoever. You are a sensible and strong willed person for quitting. You should talk your friends, loved ones into kicking this habit as well

Grats... i quit a habit that was from 16-21 or so. I only smoke during social occasions... which my hermit life accounts to about 2-3 times a year.

That's awesome!
I never smoked, but I have plenty of friends who can't stop so I know how hard it is to kick the habbit.

I'm surprised Aceman hasn't shown up yet to tell us all how he's smoked for years yet is perfectly healthy and will be in the 2004 summer Olympics.
