One year wedding anniversary coming up... Gift ideas?

May 28th is going to be one year already!! Man how time flies!!!

Any veterans out there wanna help me with gift ideas? We are already going to Aruba for 5 days but I want to get her something too.

A little birdie told me she scored Yankee-Red Sox tickets at the Stadium for me...

Feel free to shoot out any ideas or good/bad experiences/results... The more the better!

I don't buy my wife annual gifts of any type, so far it works.

I dont plan on getting her annual gifts... Just want to get something for the first year... Although i see how it could become a trend

I got my wife a framed reprint of her favorite painting for our 1st; a spa getaway for our second; a week in St. Lucia for our 3rd.

For our fourth, we decided that we would get each other a car based GPS navigation system because we are going Boston and have no idea how to get around.

I am dreading our fifth. She has been talking about upgrading the rock for a while now....

I would do something special for your trip.
Plan a very romantic private dinner on the beach for both of you. plan a menu with the hotel you are staying at that includes her favorite things!
Go all out though... her favorite flowers, wine, etc. trust me, she will love the fact that you put so much thought into it.

Give her a written signed IOU. Good for 24 hours letting her choose to do whatever she wants, and you have to agree. Could be shopping, could be a night on her own, could be yard work,................anything. Lots of trust involved but they can also be lots of fun. If you do this, make sure you're ready and committed to it. Establish any guidelines prior, because once you agree and give her the IOU, she will have 24 hours of............

keep it simple, flowers, dinner, and maybe a picture of you two from a while back. I have a couple of pics I keep at work because they remind me of when I first met my wife and how I felt. Women eat that stuff up, so if you have anything like that I say go for it. Trust me, I've done big fancy stuff for my wife and she always likes the thoughtful stuff more.

How did they work?

I probably should have printed up a couple sets for myself back then.

Hey OP, you know her better than anyone else. Or at least you are supposed to.

Get her something that SHE wants... not what others want of/for her.

That's the best advice I can give.
