I have the Nexus and the T-Mobile unlimited text/5GB data/100min plan. I. am. frustrated.

My main number is ported to Google Voice. My new T-Mobile number I don't care about.

1. How the hell do you send a text? I sent it through the stock text app and the text shows up as coming from my T-mobile number, which no one recognizes. When I open the Google Voice app and go to Text there are no options to compose a new text...

Where is the compose new text option?

All the literature on texting is on how to text through the Google Voice interface on the DESKTOP: http://support.google.com/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=115116

Uninstalled and Re-Installed Google Voice App

2. When I call my phone from a friend's line it first rings the GrooveIP dialer. I ignore it. And then it immediately rings the stock dialer and I have to ignore that. How do I get it to only ring the stock dialer?

In my Google Voice Settings (on the Desktop), under Phones, I *unchecked* T-Mobile. It was originally forwarding calls to both my Google Voice and T-Mobile Number, so the phone was ringing at the same time since it was forwarding twice to the same phone.

3. My voicemails aren't getting downloaded to my phone. I have to call out to listen to them.

Fixed after the re-install of Google Voice app and unchecking T-Mobile in Google Apps settings (above)

Will post issues as they come...

2) I don't use GrooveIP. Sorry, can't help you there. I just use Google Voice and my phone rings normally.
3) I think on T-Mobile prepaid, it doesn't automatically support conditional call forwarding. So your calls won't be forwarded to Google voicemail when your cell is busy or not answering. I think you have to call T-Mobile and have them disable voicemail on your line so that calls will forward to your Google Voice voicemail instead. Which means no one will be able to leave you voicemail on your T-Mobile number. This is a problem with T-Mobile prepaid only. T-Mobile regular plans support conditional call forwarding. Only on their prepaid plans do the conditional call forwarding not work.

AT&T prepaid support conditional call forwarding. I use Straight Talk AT&T prepaid and I have no issue with Google voicemail working with it. I think Straight Talk T-Mobile prepaid has the same issue as the T-Mobile $30 5gb prepaid. I know it's crazy and dumb. My recommendation is to switch to Straight Talk AT&T. It's $15 more a month but you get better AT&T coverage and you don't have to mess with GrooveIP and other VOIP nonsense. Plus Google Voice voicemail works like it's supposed to.

StraightTalk sounds like such a great plan but I'm super wary of the crazy throttling, getting booted from the service, and customer complaints galore.

And I *know* that I can't keep under 100MB a day. That's way too low. Some days are going to be 10MB. Some are going to be 300MB.
