I just bought this from Vanns for $99.99, with free shipping (Oklahoma to Connecticut) and I have to say, it is a great buy, IMHO! Shakes the house, and that's only on middle setting. Allows you to vary the power out and the frequency generated.
It comes with an 8" woofer, powered to 60 watts, auto standby switch, and you can plug it in with either a subwoofer out RCA plug, or with speaker inputs. Nicely made, especially for the price, and easily compared to subwoofers $200-400 range at Circuit City. I know Onkyo is great component company, not sure about speakers, but I was impressed with this unit. Free shipping of this heavy item makes it a bargain, I think.

Well its frequency response only goes down to 30 Hz, so it's not that great, but for $100, I don't think you could do better.

I can vouch for Vanns though. I have spent several thousand dollars there and have never been burned. Sign up at the website and the prices which appear will often be lower, but not on that subwoofer I'm afraid.
They will pricematch other authorized Sony dealers over the phone and they are the only authorized Sony dealer which will accept a return on something like a camcorder for 30 days for a refund. They also don't overcharge for shipping, etc. and/or sell greymarket goods like the NYC vendors do.

Just watched the extended edition of LOTR last night with the new woofer.. it rocked! Count me as a new happy Vanns customer. Can't say I noticed the last 10Hz of bass.

I did see yesterday the same subwoofer as part of a home theater set up at Circuit City for well over $500.

I've owned that sub, too. However, my amp died on the 28th day of ownership, so I took it back to Costco for a refund. However, Costco appears to be selling a newer model of 10" KLH subwoofer from the one provided in your picture link. The have modified the cabinet so that the speaker grill is circular in shape and no longer square like the front of the subwoofer. Hopefully, they've also made some internal changes to it as well. The good thing about Costco is their flexibility in taking back products that they sell. If you purchse the KLH from them for $99, be sure to put it through its paces for the first two weeks of ownership to determine if its the right sub for you - or, if any defects are present. Costco has made some revsisions to their return policy recently, so you might want to review your local policy before actually making the purchase.
