I've been using this site for quite some time now. I travel around alot and that's without a puter folks! But I literally got a trillion bookmarks. So my best course of action was to find a kick butt way to view my url's no matter where I was! I stumbled across this site and can vouch for it's greatness. Very customizable, very searchable, very awesome! Give it a try if you are tired of using IE's favorites folder. You won't be disappointed!

That sounds good but do you like it enough to do a Backflip?
You can import and export all your bookmarks, share them if you wish along with your profile, etc. :gift:

If you are always on certain PCs (like a home PC and a Work PC) I use Yahoo's Companion bar. All my bookmarks appear when I log in to Yahoo and anything I add gets updated everywhere. I love it.

Huh, there used to be some dot com startup that did the same thing. They had the coolest interface too, only one I ever saw that utilized the D&D javascript interface and in a cool way too . Too bad it was such a dog to load back in the early days of heavy dial-up, guess that's why they disappeared. Now what was their name... ?

Back. Here are some more, some look like crap, others want $$$

This site lists and rates them but not all of the ones listed are still alive (most are victims of the dot com bust and have [ahem] restructured themselves )

You can't call this as bookmarks, it is called 'search engine'. You can build up a simple search engine with all the bookmarks you have.

Watch out for some of those bookmark websites. Many of them required to download their software and some of those software comes with spyware.

I dont know about with the myhq.com one,im sure it is a good service.Wiith backflip, which I linked above, there is no download, you can grab a link for your toolbar to the service and from that you can either have your new bookmarks/login password protected or not. This one has been around several years and although the owners were ready to drop it once due to lack of revenue,it was taken over by the developers who said they wont let it go down. That was over a year back...
You can also backup to your pc all that youve bookmarked online.

Yeah I should prolly chime back in here. It's not too much different probbaly from baclkflip and all them others. I did alot of research looking for one that fit the bill nicely and it was between two (can't remember the other one). With myhq, there is no download either so that's a plus. Although, they have a special link that they recommend you put in your 'Links' folder so that everytime you want to book mark a page directly to your account, you just load this popup and you can categorize it from there. When I say very customizable I mean it. I mean hack, you can even set the idents of each column to multiples of a pixel! Cool thing is that if you can search through other peeps bookmarks too if you are bored.

The reason I posted this is that book marks tell you alot about a person. Although there are billions of sites out there, I'm sure none of us have any time to bookmark them all. We just bookmark the ones that we think is worth visiting again. I look back of some of my links and laugh because I remember a "simpler time" or a "reason why I visited that site in the first place" .

The 'find duplicate link' option is pretty cool, but the only thing I wish it had was an option to search your database of links and to delete or place the inactive ones in a folder. I'm sure this would be impossible to do server-side anywho without killing the serving machine so I guess it's not feasible. I'm sure there are more than enough software taht can do this already.

The greatest online bookmark manager that I've come across is from JungleMate.com

It's an online office/email service that is completely free, NO ADVERTISING whatsoever,
and provides some very versatile features:

lets you add bookmark the page that you're on to your account by simply clicking a web link in your favorites. It pops up a litle screen and you can then add it to your bookmark collection.. You may have to log in first, but once you do, you remain logged in (unless you close all the browsers and restart IE).

The bookmark manager works like your typical file folder setup, which is great for organizing subjects/categories.
Each bookmark listing consists of the URL, the title, and a note section.

There is a tool that will allow you to import and export IE and Netscape bookmarks.

Also, along with the bookmark manager, there is a comprehensive set of features you can use for general work:

Notepad
Tasks
Contacts
Companies (similar to contacts, but for businesses)
Schedule

and lastly, a file storage section (you don't get much, only 2mb, but thats enough to store some important docs).

BTW, all of the features I mention above also have exportable/importable functionality, where you can even select the fields to make sure the .CSV file will work with whatever it imports into.

Anyway, you ought to check it out, it has been a godsend for me, since I surf alot from many different locations..
