These are so great. Last year I got $100 each from Discover brokerage and DLJDirect. Heck, they're probably happy because my money is still there $2k each plus interest.

spec411 - Thanks for yet another great post. So if I fall under the "I don't wanna trade, I just want free money while earning interest" category then the TDWaterhouse deal is for me, right? I like the low minimum of $1,000 it's just unfortunate that I have to kiss my money good bye for at least 6 money but I'll be getting $100 free which is nice. How do you figure a net apr of 20%? That's assuming you open the account with $1,000 let it sit there earning interest for 6 months and get your $100 bonus, right?

ross, you got it...$100 free for $1000 investment is 10%, and 10% earned in 6 months works out to a 20% APR...

plus youll get interest at money market rates while it sits for 6 months, so youre looking at the equivalent of earning 23-24% apr on your $1000...

if you have an additional $2000 do the other deal too....5% for six months is eqivalent to 10% APR and make interest too, totalling 13-14% equivalent APR on your $2000....best risk-free rates out there!!!!
