you playing on dial up? i don't see how its any/much different than say an FPS game.

Timing plays such a crucial role in Tennis - not only does it determine whether or not you hit the ball, but it also affects how you have to swing to put the ball where you want.

And if you're willing to accept 50-100ms of lag in a match, I challenge to you even get your racket on, let alone return, a Pro-powered serve.

p.s. Are there any computer opponents in tennis after the 2000 rating/1900 rating match?

I could see them doing that easily for Golf & Bowling, since they're turn-based. Tennis, no damn way would that work.
