Hello all,
Recently, I've replaced all the components of my PC. The full specification is:
- MSI Tomahawk Z270
- Intel i5 7600K
- Cryorig H5 Universal (Cooler)
- Nvidia Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 O8C
Hyper Fury DDR4 8Gb
- Corsair CX750M
- Phanteks Eclipse P400 (Case)
After the installation, everything was fine except the audio. I had turned on the PC and Windows took some time to boot up due to the new hardware. After that, I got a lot of noise (like static noise) from the speakers connected on the back side. I could listen to some music but the static noise was there too and the quality was bad. Also, I connected the headphones to the front jacks I could ear a bit of noise but no audio.
I tried to reinstall the Audio drivers from MSI site and suddenly, the audio stopped to work. The static noise was the only thing I could hear. I tried with youtube and the media player and I only heard that static noise. I reinstalled the drivers from Realtek site, MSI, Windows... and I didn't get it work. To confirm if the error comes from the drivers or the MOBO, I booted up the PC using a Ubuntu USB drive, but the problem was the same.

Related to the BIOS, the current version is 1.1 (The latest one is 7A68v13, https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z270-TOMAHAWK.html#down-bios)
Now, I'm using a USB converter that I have to play video games, but I'm a bit worried about that static noise. I'd need to buy another one to plug in my speakers. To buy another USB audio card is not a problem, they are very cheap. My concern is also if that static noise comes from static electricity and it may damage my components in the future.
To provide more information, yesterday night I reinstalled the drivers and now, the static noise in the headphones that are connected to the front connectors is very low! However, the audio is still missing, like if you set the volume to 0 (The volume was on 80).
Do you have any idea or suggestion I can try? Btw, I will format Windows this weekend because now I can not activate my paid license and I still have some old drivers.
Thank you very much!
