I found a good deal on an open box HD3850.

IDC what accessories is does or doesn't come with.

Do a lot come DOA?

Experiences? I am TEMPTED

Went ahead and bought the card. Too good of a deal to pass up. $89 for an HD3850 512MB

I ordered an open box Motherboard last Wednesday, received it on Thursday.

It's memory slots were finicky. Only 1 of 6 RAM that I had, worked on that board. Of those 6, all worked and continue to work on my other PCs. But yes, I did get that MB operational.

I could understand why that board was RMA'd.

So YMMV.

I've only bought a couple open box items from them but had no problems so far. Just don't expect all the accessories to be there and then if they are you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I generally don't do open box, but I purchased 2 open box Shuttle SFF barebones setups with no issues.

Can always RMA to the manufacturer. Hassle but still cheap.

Bought an open box mobo about 2 years ago. It lasted for 8 months and then fried itself taking out my cpu in the process. It was an old folding box, so I wasn't too upset since it cost me $18 and a bunch of parts I had sitting around.

I wouldn't buy anything high end that is open box after the experience however.
