This is
javascript which your browser already handles (may websites use javascript for navigation etc.)
JAVA, (JAVA virtual machine) whether it is SUN or MS is something entirely different and not necessary to run javascript.
As an aside - As you know, due to the SUN-Microsoft legal battle over JAVA, MS no longer offers a download for their version of JAVA. However, many JAVA applications have been written for the Microsoft version and do not work right under the SUN version. Here is a download link for the Microsoft JAVA:

Eh, I think I'll stick to highlighting the link and hitting CTRL C and CTRL V in address bar. Although, this might be handy for those people who post hot deals and dont bother to link it
If you read the "openselectedurl_read..>" readme file at that link, you will see that this automatically opens a new browser window and then does a lot more than the copy/paste. Many forums/discussion groups do not allow direct links, so this will open the "munged" links posted there instead of having to edit the pasted URL. Also, this will open plain text websites in text files or mail lists/discussion groups and your received E-mail that you are viewing in in your browser.(plain text URLs)
