I work in an academic research lab. I received an email that something on one of our ports had an open SNMP service. The port had a switch to with 2 computers hooked up to it. I'm not sure how to tell which was causing the problem. Nothing has been changed with the computers recently. The only thing I could think of would be that the instrument manufacture sends the computer set up with teamviewer. They can use it to remotely troubleshoot the instrument and they used it recently. If it was in use while IT scaned the port would it be viewed as an open SNMP service? Thanks for any help it tracking down what maybe the cause.
