Open/View Nandroid Backup Files on PC?

I recently gave in to installing a custom rom on my Galaxy Nexus; I made a nandroid backup, but in my haste to get the new rom installed, I didn't actually copy a couple of files from my phone to my pc for later replacement on my phone.

I'd love to be able to open the nandroid backup and just pull those two files out, but no solution I've tried has worked. I started with Nandroid Browser, but nothing ever opens--it just clocks. I've tried ISO browsers on my desktop but none can actually open the .img files created by the nandroid backup.

Anybody have any other ideas on what I can try to open up the backup? I don't want to resort to restoring the backup on my phone just to get to a couple of files.

Only the boot and recovery should have .img extensions, the cache/data/system directories should have a .tar extension and you can use winrar to open it. Otherwise backup your current rom and restore the old one.

Mine are all *.ext4.dup files.

So I just gave the unyaffs program a try. When I run it for either the recovery or boot .img files, it tells me the img is broken. I guess the nandroid backup I did through clockwork recovery didn't really complete successfully, despite it's success message?

never tried it and it's an app but how about nandroid browser? looks like you can extract the files and then dropbox them or whatever

Yeah, I tried Nandroid Browser. It just clocks and I'm guessing because the backup I performed didn't actually create a non-corrupted backup image.

what version of cwm are you using? the newest version does differential backups, this might be the problem.

Yeah, I'm finding this to be a giant pain. Just *moving* the trillion files to my PC is crashing the damn filesystem.

Is there a way to force a self-contained backup?

I have not used cwm6+ I still have 5.8.0.2
