Yup I think "Little Things" is a good way to say what is wrong with Opera....I like it but there are some LITTLE things that annoy....but the good things make up for it. There are things about it that I like alot and so its enough for me to use it as my main browser.

1) how do you remove the underline links
2) how do open a new tab next to the old tabs like in crazy browser?
3) how do you type in a new address and have it open in a new tab?

thanks guys

Those Questions are answered in this thread

care to repeat them? i never saw an answer on 2 and 3 and i've read the thread twice... in fact i think i'm the first one who asked about 2 and 3! unless the answer you are talking about is "you can't"

i'm sticking w/ crazy browser...

I think I'll try after reading this, although I like Phoenix myself.

so far, little things.

1. when using multi language input.. the browser remembers the last input character i used, in IE it's different from window to window, but since opera intergrates all windows into the inside, i have to change my input everytime.

2. the CTRL+ENT .. (adds, www. at the front, and .com at the end) .. so far i haven't seen any other browser than IE that does this,... saves so much time and typing

3. needs little more timing, but i've found when loading JAVA, or flash scripts, it's tad out of sync than IE... can't argue because IE is mostly used WebB now

4. do i have to make the 'To: and Subject: field' appear on the screen everytime? .. very annoying

pro.

1. fast
2. nice looking
3. search tabs at the aboe

Do most people switch just because it isnt an MS product?

Exactly. And I am not waiting for an update anytime soon. I agrre with you on the movable toolbar but I am not sure if Opera 7 is faster than 6.05. I mean just like IE and Mozilla, all it does is display the content while Opera6.05 loads the complete page then display it. Am I right?

Bingo, that's exactly right. That's why O7 seems to be faster than O6.05.

Ok, welp this thing sucks.

Thought it was good at first but now im noting some things that bug the crap outta me.

1) Slows down for no apparent reason sometimes.
2) Scroll wheel action frequently messes up causing mass hysteria and occational sudden infant death syndrome.
3) Just overall annoying feel.

Welp, back to IE i go.

I tried it. I must admit, overall it felt very fast and snappy. But there are a few things that keep me from using it.

1.) The Toolbar on the top and bottom takes up way too much space. I know its configurable, and i disabled a lot of stuff, and its still taking up a lot of room.
2.) Seems to take up a lot of memory. After about 30 minutes of using it, opera.exe was using up over 60mb of ram! Must be a memory leak, or its caching a lot to memory.
3.) It doesn't seem to recognize any MIME types, even though they are set properly. Music, video's, etc - it has no idea what to do with them when clicked.
4.) Using mousewheel to scroll up and down scrolls too fast, making it difficult to keep my place while reading.
5.) Completly ignores my windows theme for things like scroll bars and buttons.
6.) I don't like the way the main window is considered a tab which is always open. It contributes to problem #1

Oh well, back to Phoenix for me. It might be slightly buggy, but I love using it.

I have been a faithful Opera user since 3.6 beta. This is one of the few pieces of software I actually pay for. Still using 6.03, not sure if I should upgrade. Hmmm.
Those looking for help with the settings try Opera's excellent forums.

I've checked mirc settings and nothing there I think it just uses the default browser but I can't get it to use opera as the default browser any ideas?

I have it set under that option and it still doesn't make opera the default browser.

I wish, opera does not work with the washington mutual website even with all cookies enabled so I need ie for that. It also doesn't save my cookie at amazon so I don't have to login everytime.

Is Opera compatible with MSN Zone? I know that Mozilla isn't. IE has been working fine for me so I won't get Opera unless it is compatible with the Zone.
