I'd say Firefox is more like a 2000 Civic EX, Opera is like an '04 Audi RS6, and Internet Explorer is like a 1988 Honda Accord.
Firefox, like a Civic has a lot of easy-to-install and generic bolt-on components. Yes, some of them are great, and you can get it to work very well and be very fast, but despite all the "customization" you usually come out with a pretty damn generic "aftermarket" car.
Opera, like the RS6, is relatively uncommon - it can be customized, but due to a much smaller user-base, aftermarket parts are nowhere near as common. It also performs much better right out of the lot (or off the net) than a Civic, and doesn't require nearly the amount of work that the Civic will to be a very impressive car.
Internet Explorer is much like an old Accord since it's hugely popular, generally does what most people need it to (albeit not nearly as well as a lot of other cars), and people are very comfortable with it.
