Hey guys i am really looking at getting this monitor!!!
It looks really great for the money...and features are very comparable to the KDS-195 and Samsung 900IFT

I have found this monitor at BUY.com for $259.99 and i'm sure someone knows of some great buy.com coupons and buy.com is already offering free shipping....

it is going to replace my aging old 15" proview so it should be a major improvement... is this the right deal to go with or should i wait and save some more for a samsung or KDS equivilent

thanks guys

I personally like KDS. I sold them both and it seemed that KDS had a slight edge.

I bought the 95F from Amazon - the first had a fuzzy area on the display- no matter what res or anything. I RMA'd it for another.. same problem. I RMA'd it too. (I tried it on different computers, resolutions, refresh rates and video cards-- it was the monitor as far as I, 3dfx and NEC could tell). But I liked it so much, I wanted to try to find a way to keep it. No luck.

Aside from that - and I say this because I read that sometimes people go thru 3 or 4 of the same model to get a perfect one - so, aside from that, they were really nice monitors. If it weren't such a hassle to RMA (plus now Amazon doesn't have anymore of them ), I would get it again.
The display was flat, the refresh rates good, the waranty great (3 year replacement with a NEW one); tech support, though not brilliant people, at least bent over backwards to be helpful. The area that was not fuzzy (90+%) was beautiful. This model came out in August so it's brand new technology, but the downside is that tech support is not familiar with it.

Also, I'm not a power user-- Other people might be more nit-picky. I am writing this on a 14" Compaq that uses generic drivers- so you have a point of reference.

Once Amazon credits me for the RMA, I will probably get a Samsung, but only bc Amazon has no more 95Fs!

In summary, I would tell my friends who want a good monitor at a good price about this, but with the caveat that the 2 I had did have problems. If you want any more info, message me.

If it benefits anyone, NEC has this "try before you buy" program going on. If you go to their US site and look at the monitor you just mentioned (including several others) there's a link to Try it out.

Try the AS95F Here

I've had one for the past 8 months. Works and looks great, not a lick of trouble. It does however make a loud "click" when changing resolutions but I think that's normal, just kinda annoying. I do prefer it's small footprint though, it fits nicely on my desk!

The other AS90 model should arrive here in about an hour from buy.com's DOTD on Saturday ...I, too, was looking at the AS95, but the $30.00+ clams saved in shipping lured me in...Sure it'll we a welcomed upgrade from my Cybervision C72 17"

Hey, I just got the NEC 19" Accusync 90 from buy.com's DOTD...Man, am I disappointed...Although I had a cheap'o Cybervision C72 17", the think was incredible bright and crisp...straight lines...easy on the eyes...This NEC is my first 19", so maybe I need to get used to it, but I doubt it....

...been working on it for 30 minutes now and have a total headache the left/right edges of the screen bow out in the middle..totally curved looking on the screen...dark as hell unless I max out the brightness...IE background looks like an off-white, and it has like an orange/red splotch looking mark on the right-hand side (very faint, but I can't help but to stare it at)...at the current resoulution, it says 60hz ver-sync and hor-sync 48khz...if that why it hurts my eyes?

Lastly, any ever return crap to buy.com? I have never had any problems with them, but this damn thing needs to go...with it being the DOTD, you think I'll stuck with the 220.00 paperweight?

Helpless,

I got the same Monitor (AccuSync 90) and absolutely love it! No problems at all with picture. I also have an Asus 32mb v7700 Deluxe GF2 and I couldn't get the Stereoscopic glasses to work w/ my old monitor ... it actually works on this one! I'm happy ... maybe you just got a bad one ... have you tried getting hte latest drivers for it?

Here they are:

Good luck!

I bought this monitor, AS95F, last week and it is the ugliest monitor ever!!! The good news is if you place it so that the rear end (the ugly part) is facing a wall then you never have to look at it.

As far as performance, I am absolutely satisfied. At buy.com they say it is 0.25 pitch. However, on the NEC webb page it says 0.24 and we see a noticeable difference between a 0.26(AS90) and 0.24(AS95) monitor. It is worth it to spend the extra money and get the AS95F.

As far as flatness, it is NOT truely flat. Instead it uses something called shadow mask, which is a simulated flat screen. So far I only care about things like clarity, sharpness, glare, flicker, color, etc., etc., etc.. I do not care so much that it is not truely flat as long as the other elements are there. What they do in shadow mask is they place a second plastic screen over the CRT, which is designed to magnify the edges more, such that the screen appears flat. It fooled me the first time I saw it.

Considering that I was thinking about buying the Sony G400 for $599 versus this thing for less than half that, I think it is a HOT deal!

I just got this monitor too through Buy.com... It is ok. I am not too impressed.... but the value is good. I got a KDS 19" monitor a month ago through buy.com DOT (for 189 delivered) and I think the quality is even a bit better. The picture on the KDS is more clear and better quality. I can really see the pixels on the NEC when my eyes are less than a foot from the monitor...

Yea, I got the refresh rate fixed, so not as bad on the eyes...but, I, too, see the grains in the screen ~ 1 1/2 away...and the pure white screens, like the background in IE Explorer, are an off white at best....not as sharp as my $139.00 17" Cybervision

i bought this monitor too, the screen looks REALLY nice, but the back IS ugly...

my question is does anyone else get a bit of fuzziness on the sides? like the left and right ends?

In the center, its so crisp and clear, but the sides of the monitor seem to get a bit fuzzy on some spots.

Is this a monitor problem? or a driver issue? or is it just a faulty monitor? Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't even buy that monitor, check it out locally at staples, the CS guy himself showed me how much the monitor sucked. Personally I have an Amptron GS17 I'd rather go buy another one of these puppies, its cheap and excellent quality.

Universe, I RMA'd 2 to AMZN due to fuzziness on the right side. I had the newest drivers and tried on 2 video cards/2 computers/all resolutions/refresh rates.

Don't think that Staples carries this model.
They do have the MS95 for $299, which is not flat tube.
