I just got a WD640GB drive. I also have a 500GB Seagate
I need some advice on drive partition setup.

Drive 1 (WD640GB)
-Partition A: XP Home
-Partition B: Vista 64 Ultimate
-Partition C: Programs and drivers?
-Partition D: Data

Drive 2 (Seagate 500GB)
-Partition A: 1.5x RAM Pagefile*
-Partition B: Data and OS backup

1. How does this look? I?m looking for maximum performance, dual boot, and reliability.
2. What size partitions for XP Home and Vista?
3. Should my programs and drivers be installed twice (once in each OS partition) instead of just in their own partition C?

P35 Gigabyte DS3R
E4400
4GB Ram

You are way, way overthinking this. Partitions are mostly old hat now, but they're up to you. If you have two hard drives, put the page file on the second one, sure, why not. To back up the OS don't just copy stuff over; once you've got the PC all set up how you like it and everything is installed and configured, make an image of the drive and save it on the second drive, if you want.

Well, at least I would like to keep the OS's on separate partitions. How/where should the drivers and programs be installed if I intend on using two separate OS's?

Ah, right. Well, in that case just install each on a different drive with the other drive unplugged while you're installing and setting everything up. Then swap the drives out and install the other OS. That way each OS will think the drive it is on is C:\, which saves the hassle of having an OS install on a non-C: drive.
