it's not good enough for me to consider whether it's too expensive or not. It's not worth buying.

Watching them put that slab together - then tasting its texture - it's all wrong. I have mental images of swallowing sweet bubble gum.

I like both but prefer Cold Stone. Yeah it's expensive but it's not like you should be eating there 5 days a week. We go there maybe once a month. I'm not a huge ice cream eater but when I'm craving it, I definitely go to Cold Stone or Marble Slab instead of a grocery store. When I buy it from the grocery store, I usually end up throwing 1/2 of it away later.

That's what Ben and Jerry's is for. You get the high quality and low quantity at a cheaper price!

Have you ever been to Coldstone? This is where they got their idea from, Marble Slab is the original.

As for their stuff, its really wonderful is you get a bunch of stuff mixed in with it. It's expensive and not something you would want to get all the time, but if you are in the mood for a premium brand of stuff and want to treat yourself to something nice, then it's well worth it.

actually, marble slab is just another one of the imitators... it was invented by steve herrell (of herrell's fame)

Imators of what? Mashing ice cream on a marble slab? Marble Slab started in 83, Coldstone came out in 88...

coldstone is great, how can you say spending 4-5 bucks on some delicious food isn't worth it when you're dropping 40-50 bucks every time you fill up your tank.

AFAIK we don't have Marble Slab or Coldstone around here. Sounds like a fancy version of a Mix, Flurry, Blizzard, etc...

Give me Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip over anything at Coldstone or the like.

Soo good, even better in milkshake form.

yep. granted, coldstone is good, but definitely not worth the price.

Everytime I have been to Coldstone's I have wondered why anyone eats there, because the ice cream is substandard and expensive.

The ice cream itself is nothing spectacular, which is why they rely on heavingly on toppings. Most of their pre-configured choices include one flavor of ice cream and 4 or 5 toppings, which is way too much for me.

I usually don't like anything in my ice cream because I like to enjoy the flavor of it, which I think marble slab wins in this category.

I just looked up the "nutritional" information. 450 calories and 18 grams of saturated fat per serving. Sounds great.

No sh!t. It's fvcking ice cream, what did you think it was made of celery?
How 'bout you look up beer? Or Pizza?
FFS.

Many light beers have around 100 calories per bottle with essentially no fat. I dont know about you but I'd rather drink 4 beers than eat ice cream.

The difference is the Cold Stone or Marble Slab version comes with a floor show (you get to watch them crush an Oreo cookie, mash it in to your ice cream, and charge an extra $1.50.)

well not that I turn beer down and I am a serious lifter...but alcohol calories are about equal to fat....maybe worse from some ppl's standpoints.

And you can get frozen yogurt instead of ice cream just as easily as you can get a light beer instead of a regular beer. What's your point again?

I never made a point.

And I was asked to look up beer by djheater. I didn't look up celery or pizza though. You can go do that.

It's good for a treat once in a while, a nice change from your normal premixed affair. I like how it's not completely mixed like you would get from a tub, one bite you'll get a bunch of frozen strawberries, next bite you might hit some chocolate ice cream. I have it maybe a few times a year.

Exactly. They are way overpriced. Sign up on the email list and you get coupons every once in a while. That's the only time we go there. Even thought the Chocolate Devotion is soooo good.
