Yep, unfortunately the rad and not the fan. The rad (sans fan) didn't line up with the case fan holes, the case fan I have didn't line up with the rad holes, and the Zalman fan DID line up with the case holes.

Where-o-where is the QA? This is just whack! And I thought/heard Zalman was all about fit, finish and quality!

hey tornadobox, I just got the zalman in. the plastic covers on the rad where the screw holes are can be moved and flexed around until you get the screws to line up. mine were a little off but pushing on them a little let me get the screws started. maybe yours were off more than mine, but figured I would give a heads up.

this thing cools a shit ton better than my antec 620. will post more results when I get some testing done.

MrVeedo,

Yes, I did notice that I could loosen the side molding (plastic) that the fan/mounting screw threads are set into, however I decided I didn't want to try to jerry rig it (it should work out of the box without modification). My Cooler Master Seidon 120M is out for delivery, hopefully I have better luck with it!

I bought the LQ-320 during the sale and didn't have any problems with installation. I currently have it setup with two Cougar 120mm PWM fans in push/pull. My 3770k at 4.4GHz idles at 25 and under full load reaches 75. I am very happy with the cooler.

Completed the Seidon 120M install (took WAY longer than I anticipated...had to frankenstein my case panel a bit to get it to go back on with the radiator installed, but that's what I get for using a $30 case).

I set it up as in a pull config (fan mounted between the radiator and the case, pulling the hot air from the radiator out of the back of the case). At stock speeds, I'm hitting 10 degrees C LOWER with the Seidon 120M (@ ~700 rpm) than with the stock HSF with the CPU pegged. Idle, it's roughly the same, if not slightly higher with the Liquid Cooler (@ ~700 rpm).

I attempted an OC Genie II overclock, but 3DMark 11 is crashing, so I'll have to fiddle by hand I suppose.

Unchecked, the fan that came with the package is LOUD (@ ~2000 rpm). I enabled my smart fan control and the fan is sitting ~700 rpm @ ~12% speed and is slightly quieter than the stock HSF.

Here it is installed:

I'll leave this thread alone now (since it's for the Zalman coolers)

In case anyone's interested, I've started a new thread on my AMD APU + Cooler Master Seidon 120M chronicle over in the CPUs and Overclocking forum.

awesome temp drop vs my antec 620 or corsair h60. with the same voltage and clock with those coolers, loaded core temps would peak around 68 iirc.

with this zalman lq320 and a san ace 38mm strapped to it, max core temp is 55, and for the most part chugging at 52 most of the time. a little apples to oranges though because I was using the stock fans included with the corsair and antec.

Wow, really, I can't send PMs? I've been a member for a long time now...

How did you mount your lq320 outside your case like that, in the picture you posted?

Are the tubes able to come off easily?

Do you think I could do that with an NZXT Source 210, given how the water cooling holes are?:

Or did you cut out your fan grill and then stick the water block in through there? I might do that if I get this thing myself but just curious.

And if possible, if you got an account, reply to me on overclock.net or teamliquid.net. Better forums over there ^^

The v700 has cut outs for the hoses. Great design more manufacturers should follow.

They got the 320 for $40 today! Thinking of getting it, but I already have ah H60 and a 310 in their boxes. Review show the 310 to be as good as the 315/320, but i'm guessing thats stock fan. I'm currently using corsair A50 in one comp and an IFX-14 in another and want to change them out to the loops. I have two Thermalright TY-140, do you think it will be enough CFM for these radiators?

You are completely wrong. "Shitty" TIM fails the "makes me feel good about using expensive TIM" test.
usually any TIM that is shipped with a name brand Cooler is more than adequate.....so IMo you are wrong!!
In fact we have discussed this before...you know very well that a company like Thermaltake or Zalman..etc...are not going to ship a "shity" TIM......but thanks for pointing out what most of us already knew which was that a no name, no reputation company will probably not care about the quality of the TIM that it ships!

With that said -- AS5 is way over rated compared to other "quality" TIM`s....
