Opinon please -- IDEQ 200S vs. 200T

Hi all,

I'm ready to buy one of these SFF boxes and I'd like your opinions. I don't need the SATA RAID function of the 200N, but I'm concerned about the SIS chipset in the 200S. The machine will be used mostly as a DVD station to (playing and recording) and will also be dual booting into Win98SE to play some old DOS games (DOOM, Blood, Quake 1.1, etc.)

I've read on the Sudhian forums that with a good additional video card, the SIS chipset holds up very well.

Newegg is still out of the 200S :brokenheart: but has the 200N in stock for about $100 more.

Your thoughts would be appreciated, as well as if you know of a reputable e-store that has the 200S in stock and doesn't ship UPS

I have a 200N and I'm VERY happy with it. I'm dual booting Win2k and red hat 9 linux.

It overclocked like a champ too. I'm running 200fsb x 11 = 2.2Ghz with a Barton 2500+ and also the ram is synchronous dual channel as well. I'm also using the onboard graphics.

The 200N has the best onboard graphics of the 4 offered and would probably suit your needs very well even without an add-in card.

Yea, I just bought a 200N and it will be here Friday. I would pony out the extra $100 for the 200N. It is by far the best SFF out w/ onboard video.

Does anyone know of any support forums or websites for the IDEQ 200N.

I'm having problems with my machine. I cannot get it to bootup w/o a bootable CD in the drive. Whenever I remove my Windows CD from the drive, it would give me an error about disk failure. I've set my boot sequence to CD-ROM first and HDD-0 second, but I've changed it around and still it would not work. But if I leave my Windows CD in the drive, it would look at the drive first and then boot into Windows just fine. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

sfftech.com is a good site for any sff system. I go there quite a bit.

I would try booting without the cdrom.
Also, what exactly is the error message?
