DDR1
Socket 939 is a dead end, bad investment at this point
good luck getting $50 for this CPU once the AM2 CPUs come out in a couple of months

Well, if you already have S939 setup and you're just upgrading the CPU, then fine, but if you're buying a new S939 mobo and DDR1 memory, then it's a bad investment. DDR2 is faster and cheaper. And AM2 CPUs with their built-in DDR2 memory controller will be a lot faster than S939 cpus of the same speed, not to mention that newer faster CPUs will not be released on S939, so it's gonna be your last upgrade on S939, so better make it last...

What about COURTESY?
No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread.

It won't be another 6 months for the release of AM2... and it WILL take a while to hit mainstream (premium will be high at release)

No, it will be a step down for current games, as they only utilize one core, and the core of this opteron is slowwer then 2450 mhz. (though with 1mb of cache per core, vs the likely 512kb cache of each core on your 3200+, this will not be too much slowwer)

Thats just BS to me, why should a deal be exclusive to a certain forum? Money is money right?
