Initial run 250 x 9 = 2250 @ stock volt
Second Run 270 x 9 = 2430 @ stock volt
Third Run 280 x 9 = 2520 @ stock volt
Fourth Run 290 x 9 = 2610 @ stock volt, failed prime,
Fifth Run 290 x 9 = 2610 @ stock volt * 104%
Sixth Run 300 x 9 = 2700 @ stock volt * 104% failed prime
Seventh Run 300 x 9 = 2700 @ stock volt * 110% <----- I am at here now

Got the opteron 165 from Monarch Computers, retail box

Stepping 0551VPMW

edit: Pic of Screenshot

edit: been priming over 1.5 hr @ 2700 @ 110% voltage

edit: Dual prime is stable last night @ 2700 @ 110%, and I have figured out how RMclock worked.... its now sitting at 1200mhz, can jump back to 2700mhz instantaneously

Nice work. I have the same stepping from Monarch and am at 2.6Ghz on stock voltage. At 2.7 Ghz, prime crashes within a minute. I upped the voltage to ~1.45 without any better success. Should I stop, or keeping upping the volts? I'm happy with 2.6Ghz (especially at stock voltage and it's rock solid stable), but it seems weird that I just hit a wall. I will be curious how far your chip will go!

I set my ram divider to 100 (1/2 HTT) to eliminate any wierd acting of the ram. I have OCZ Plantinum Rev 2 (TCCD). Temp are not really what I want them to be. They are hovering around 48-49 degress.

My ram is on a 9/10 divider on a 290 HTT (i.e., 262 Mhz) with fairly loose timings(3-4-4-8). Memtest has run 10 passes at this setting and it checks out. Temps are also low (23 idle, 40 load). Maybe I'll push the volts to 1.5 for a short while to see what it does. It seems that 2.7 shouldn't be such a big deal to get on this chip considering it does 2.61 so easily on low voltage. What do you have for cooling saltedeggman?

Thermalright XP120 with a low noise fan

Ambient temp is 22.1

You say your temp is 23 idle? Where are you from?

You got yourself a cheap FX-60, good stuff I will be joining the club very soon when my chip arrives.

I hit the same wall, just a bit lower.

Extremely weird, eh?

I recently moved from Newfoundland to Newport, Oregon---ambient temp is around 17 deg. C

I'm gonna go for a short run at seeing what this chip can do up to 1.55 volts, but I have a feeling it's going to be diminishing returns (if any) from here on out.....what are people's experience with burn-in with these processors? Maybe I'll have better success down the road?

Nice now report back once you have had Prime95 running Large FFTs for 8 hours with no errors.

I just ran over 8 rans of small FFTs...going to doing Large FFTs tomorrow when I tweak the memory setting

Heh, coming from Opty 165 users....2.7 GHZ is awesome man! Congrats!

I got the same chip, CCBWE 0551VPMW, currently in AUS, with ambient at around 22~23ish.
I got my clocked to 300*8 @ 2.4 GHZ and 1.33V, 24hr dual prime stalbe, load temp at 48ish, XP-120 with YS Tech fan, probably shoulda get one with higher CFM (rated at 73) but i got RM clock to set my idle to 1.5GHZ and 1.10V and now it has a 32C idle temp. A little reluctant to push it any higher, since i don't want any over 50 CPU Temp.

I guess it's hugely to do with my case, I got an ASUS Vento which i got as part of combo deal not a great case in terms of airflow, really wanted to have a 120mm front intake but it looked too damn sexy to pass....

Perhapse I'll grab some new thermal grease and re-apply it some time, i think i got a little too much on atm. Would excessive thermal grease down the cooling performance? The reason I put in extra is because i accidentally made a scratch on my XP 120 cooling base.....by dropping my screwdriver on it....

My current task is to uncover exactly what is the stable volt for the 1.8GHZ stock clock, currently i'm dual priming 1.8 (300*6) at 1.14V as shown on SpeedFan and 1.10 on CPUZ, the load temp is <40, and when i finish priming it tonight, i'll tell ya ppl how it goes.

I'll have some time tonight to play with some higher voltage settings. I'll be sure to post my results.

how did you get RMclock to work..... ? i tried it, it can clock down 300 x 5...but it won't clock back up

Just poured 1.5 volts into my opteron 165---prime fails in a minute. So, looks like I'm stuck at 2.61 @ stock voltage. I still find this amazing to hit such a wall....the only thing I changed was the voltage and the ram divider (from 9/10 to 5/6). Thoughts?

i heard some opty don't like certain memory divider.....worth a try
