M-80s? Dumb? I used to do stuff that would have me charged with WMD's in todays times. Like weather ballons carrying about 5 lbs of TNT and metals for effect. Like lighting ponds on fire with 20 gallons of gas.

You're absolutley right! I have both, a 4800+ and a 170 and there's not an bit of diff between them on my setup....... Both do 2.7 @ 1.40 without a stretch.

i got my Opteron 165 with regular DDR400 Ram (not ecc/registered), its at 2.4 with stock volats in my first try, temps are 34 idle, 48 load with xp-90 and panaflo in medium speed

The problem with optys is that most of them do not oc very well. There are 3 revisions. 1. OC's really well but is very rare 2. Sh!ttiest ocer ever 3. In between. My 4200 which is 2.2Ghz stock will not run 2.4 on default volts. every 1.8Ghz Opteron I've seen will including mine. ( i should'nt have said that because it will hurt my resale lol) deleted in a few..

, so far 675mhz overclock in first try, it should go higher, CCBWE 0534SPMW, I don't think its bad at all for a 305$ cpu to hit that speed at stock volts

S940 Opterons yes.

New S939 Opterons use regular DRAM.
