Optical mice refresh rates?

I don't have an optical mouse and was wondering what are the refresh rates on them? Can you change them?

My ball mouse is at 200hz and I like it a lot more than the defaults (60hz or whatever), so I was wondering about this, thanks!
Also, I couldn't find anything by searching so I hope this hasn't been asked before.

I run mine around 150hz, they behave much like regular mice.

I had the first release of the Microsoft Intellieye and used the Logitech version 8 driver. The slider adjustment for the driver allowed up to 200 refresh rate. I had to replace the mouse (not a product failure tho) and installed the version 9 Logitech driver. Now the slider allows up to 100.
Don't know why the difference. Wish I hadn't lost the earlier driver during
hard drive problem.

the latest version of Mouseware supports a refresh rate of 200Hz, but I would recommend you switch it to USB and install the Microsoft software package, it's just about the same smoothness, and you can unplug your mouse at night so that it doesn't keep you awake... unless you have your computer in another room... My logitech mouseman wheel optical rocks... but that damned blue LED is BRIGHT!

Any ideas on the new cordless mouseman optical? Cordless mice seem to be set lower, as to save battery life, I assume its the same with the optical version? Or is there a way to tweak a cordless version (would ps2 rate work on a cordless?)

I originally installed the Microsoft cd when I got the first mouse. When I removed the software (don't recall why, now) it asked if I wanted to also remove a program which by the name sounded like some kind of data gathering spyware. I never got into researching to see if it was. I had a Logitech mouse and driver on another pc and like the motion control(s) offered.
