Hi everyone,

Ive had 2 MS Optical mice and both of them have started acting weird after a couple of months usage.

When I move the mouse slowly (I think especially sideways/diagonally) the pointer starts to jump around. No big jumps, but its Really annoying when Im suppose to double click on a file and one click goes on the intended file and the second click ends up on the file next to it.
Sometimes when its really bad the pointer "twitches" around without me even touching the mouse.

Both mice werent like this when I first started using them. (I bought the second one because the first one started to mess around like this)
The mice arent exactly the same model (but both MS) and one is alot newer than the other.

Anyone out there with a sollution or similar experiences?

Thanks in advance

I stopped buying MS mice after my 3rd Intelli Explorer went bad ... sorry I can't be of any help.

I'm currently using one that does the same thing right now. For example, if I move the mouse in a straight line, it'll sometimes skip or move an inch over. I'm pretty sure your mouse is defective.

I played alot of Unreal Tournament with it so it's pretty banged up.

You should just call up MS and ask for a replacement. It is pretty easy to do. I just called MS and asked for a replacement and they sent me a brand new one in 2 weeks. They never asked for the old one back so I brought it to work where I'm using it right now.

I've had a similar experience with a MS mouse and a GE mouse straight out of the box. Both of those were USB mice. I found that when I plugged it into the PS/2 port with th eincluded adapter, it solved the problem. I don't know if that's the same issue as you have been experiencing. But, it might be worth a try...

I agree, don't use the USB port, use the adapter(if you still have it) and plug into the PS/2 port.
