I've just installed a R9700 Pro, reformatted, and reinstalled. I followed the correct order of software/driver installation. Everything is running smoothly and thus far I have yet to encounter a problem. MOHAA and Unreal 2 run beautifully and look gorgeous. (This card is a HUGE improvement over the GeForce2 I had been using.) I ran 3DMark2001 SE and yielded a score of 9596, which is expected.

Anyway, I would like to know how I should adjust the settings for the card - AA, AF, ect. What is the best settings for my system, which is as follows:

XP 1800+
8RDA+
512MB PC2100

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Well, if I were you, I would try to run my games with 2x Anti-Aliasing (takes away the jaggies) and 4 or 8x Anistopheric Filtering (takes away texture "progression" ugliness)

Of course, for some games you can turn it up, and others you might have to turn it down.

It also depends at what resolution you play at.

BTW, to get to these options go to Destop>Settings>Advanced>D3D and OpenGL

It seems to me that it would all depend on how well your card handles the games you play. I personally love high end graphics so I have everything turned up as high as I can play in the game. For me, MOH is no sweat so I have the card's settings maxed out on the 'quality" setting. I can even play 6x AA with no problem. For Unreal 2003, I bump the AA down to 4x since the game is so demanding.

As newer (more demanding) games come out, you might need to turn the settings down a bit to play without chop or a slowdown in the FPS.

I'd play 1024x768 at 4x Anti-Aliasing with 8x Ansiotropic with V-Sync turned on. If I had a LCD I'd do 1280x1024 w 2x Anti-Aliasing and 8x Ansiotropic and V-Sync.

Thanks for the replies. I've been playing the games with 2X AA and 8X AF. They seem to be running smoothly at 1024x768 @ 85Hz.
