Options for dual system super tower

Ever since I saw the Azza 4000 super tower I've been itching to do a dual system build to consolidate the PCs floating around the house and making lots of noise.

The case calls me in my sleep and begs to be modded.

The time to build is 'just around the corner' and now the Azza 4000 is no longer available from the handful of shops I order from.

Not to worry though, as I've found it under a familiar name and here it is for those that be searching but not finding:

CFI Pharaoh Evo CFI-A1128

I recall a thermaltake chassis years ago also had dual system feature but never grabbed my attention until it was off the market.

My question is, are there any other options for dual system without resorting to specialists such as Mountain Mods and others?

Thermaltake Mozart TX?

What would impress me more than a huge case with two complete computers in it is a small case with two complete computers in it. With the proliferation of mini ITX motherboards and Pico PSUs, why not?

Thermaltake Mozart TX?

That's the one.

What would impress me more than a huge case with two complete computers in it is a small case with two complete computers in it. With the proliferation of mini ITX motherboards and Pico PSUs, why not?

I have just such a build in the back of my mind but three reasons why I wouldn't do it now:

1. The three systems currently running that two mITX boards in a single chassis would replace don't actually need to be upgraded yet and are not in the way or audible.

2. I don't have an unlimited supply of cash and my gamer and countermeasure box desperatley needs upgrade/replacement moreso than other systems.

3. The current crop of mITX boards with proper southbridge I would consider always have something missing that I would want/need.

Example:
Dual mSATA III does not exist...neither does single mSATA III unless I convert to SATA III and then lose RAID for the 2.5" SSDs because current SB limitation of two SATA III 6.0Gb/s ports.

The build you describe is something I'd like to do but currently there is not a southbridge to meet my needs let alone the wants.

The super tower dual system chassis is almost perfect for the 'dreamer' build I've been mapping out...but again the southbridge limitations holding me back because I'm not too keen on third party controllers onboard.

There aren't many full size boards that will accomodate six expansion cards either and those that will typically have a bunch of extra controllers that would likely go unused.

On top of that add to the fact that certain mobo manufacturers (i'm pointing at you Asrock) put multiple 3rd party controllers on the same pci-e x1 "lane" and then if you try to disable one of the unused controllers in BIOS you are also disabling any others that might be used otherwise.

While I understand that my needs/wants may be something other than was considered during design process I still find it difficult to part with hard earned dough for features that both will go unused and consume excess power without the ability to disable properly. I don't mind paying extra so long as I can disable it 100% without conflict.

What can I say the greenies finally got to me and I feel it would be irresponsible to continue building and configuring the same way I always have. I want to go big on the gamer, but I don't necessarily want to waste energy if I don't have to.

i was also looking at the azza fusion then newegg discontinued it and maybe 2-4 days later the cfi pharaoh evo came out which was an even better deal because comparing the two cases with azza you got 2 usb 2.0 and 2 3.0 and with cfi you get 4 2.0 and 2 3.0 also the azza came with 2 front 120mm fans and 1 140mm where as the cfi comes with 1 140mm and 2 230mm and 2 120mm also the shipping is cheaper on the cfi.

ill be building my system soon im going to take my current rig and build an ivybridge itx for the top system. it will be my gaming/video rendering rig. the itx build will be hackintoshed.

Current gaming rig
mobo ga-z68ma-d2h
i7 2600k 4.2ghz
16gb ddr3 1333
single 6850(was dual but with far cry 3 driver f-up i uninstalled it)
will be upgrading to msi pe 660 ti

itx build
ga-z77n-wifi
i3-3225
4gb 1600 ddr3

I still drool over this almost every night.....waiting for the next enthusiast platform and now thinking I should test the waters with a small build before going whole hog on 3d vision surround with 30" accessory/primary for second system.

As of now this chassis is still at top of my list for next major build.

If you visit the cfi website they have a nice video showcasing (ha!) the awsomeness of the chassis.

Just wait till closer to the end and you see the stacking of extra top section!

I'd love to see some pics/vids of your build with this case
