I have trouble with the silver Riteks, the purple ones works as well as verbatums for me. I got a version 4 ps2. I have a friend with version 7 and even the silvers work nice on it. YMMV

The KHypermedia ones I got won't even burn in my A05. I get "Power Calibration Error" in Nero every time I try to burn something.

you were right, they are CMC
nero cdspeed shows them as CMC00RG300

hacked? if by hacked i assume you mean easily updated right?

By "hacked" I mean "using firmware that was not created by Pioneer, but
instead by a 3rd party."
