Saw on XP, this is a great deal, and your teeth will thank you. There are other brushes on sale too, but this is the one I use, so look around and get a good deal on the other types.

I am giving the Oral-B 1000 as a gift and I was looking at the brush replacement heads as there are several choices.

What concerned me was that Amazon has had reports from most of the choices as having instances of selling counterfeit brushes. It appears that some of them were early on in the year (2011) but I am still seeing reports of people saying they received counterfeit brushes even in December

This isn't a threadcrap as much as a PSA. I too am looking for brush heads to go along with my gift but Amazon is making me a little bit leery with these Oral-Bs replacement heads

A valid concern - Amazon has in the past credited my account when I provided them proof of counterfeit items (and I kept items). But that's a hassle if you are buying gifts. You can *decrease* the odds of getting junk by only buying from the Amazon link itself and no third party schmoes.

Yup, buy from Amazon.com directly and you're ok. If from 3rd party sellers on Amazon, expect a fake and be pleasantly surprised if they're real. There are sites that point out the differences between fake vs. real Oral-B brushheads, as they've gotten quite good at making them.

Some say as long as it works the same, who cares. But then you have to consider that counterfeiters don't care about your health. There could be lead in the fake brushheads that you're sticking in your mouth every day. Not to mention the bristles could be doing more harm to your gums than good. And with brushhead changes every 3-4 months, you're better off saving a few dollars a year on other areas that don't affect your health.

It didn't matter, THEY WERE STILL FAKE. Don't waste your time, pay full price in a store where you know what you're getting. Never again. "

I received a fake set of replacement brushes, pretty disappointed. however, i did get my refund, But I am lost as to how to get a good price on a genuine set of brush heads.

I knew it was fake because packaging seemed cheap, made in Germany, bristles looked different; like a regular tooth brush, genuine brush heads are more compact.
