Orbitz Soda: The Canadian drink with gelatinous balls

I became aware of this bizarre beverage only recently. Apparently they stopped manufacturing the drink in the late 90's. Are there any other drinks on the market that are similar?

I am aware of some thai beverage i think a tea that a Thai restaurant in Boulder sells. It comes with a wide straw so you can suck up the balls. One of the software testers came back with one and saw it on her desk and asked what it was, she said try it, i did and had about 7 of those round pods of nastiness in my mouth. dont know the name of it and was very discusted with the experience.

That's called Boba or Pearl Tea, Citrix. Those balls are tapioca. Perfectly safe. Comes from a root. Nothing 'exotic' or gross there.

I remember that stuff. I don't actually remember trying it, but I do remember seeing it in the stores.

Apparently is was both introduced in the late 90's and discontinued in the late 90's.

the weirdest soda i've had was milk flavored fanta... that was when i went to taiwan

there are a couple Indian drinks (as in traditional) with tapioca in em... mostly with milk...

Haha Orbitz........that sh!t was nasty. I'd say it lasted less than a year on the shelves before it was discontinued, at least in my area.

Yah, I remember that nasty crap. I tried it one time. Worst mistake ever. Well not really, but it sucked.

I tried it when I was little... probabley around 11 or 12 when it first came out. it was weird.
