Nice. Ya better sow those oats before the kids do arrive then. I'm supporting a kid in college right now so I only have half the computer I could have right now.

Don, I heard overclocking on the 590's was a bad idea - moreover voltage control killed the cards in a lot of cases? Will it be at all similar for the 690?

not sure why you were wasting time with 7850's in the past talking about value and what not only to get 670 sli and now a 690? What happened? Upgrade fever gets very expensive

Voltage is what killed the 590's The 690's are voltage locked so no worries about it blowing up

In other news, I did the same thing Don

This is my upcoming WC build: Not sure what to name this beast yet.

Cosmos II case with a P8Z77 premium motherboard:

and this:

I'm going to beat your 3dmark11 690 score, just wait.

Ok, time for a showdown of absurd proportions.

Blackened: since January, you've owned 580SLI, 7970 Crossfire, 680SLI, and 690.

vs.

DonKarnage: since May, he's owned 7850, 680, 670, 670SLI, and 690.

Who wins in GPUs purchased per minute? Which cost more per month/day/hour? Which wins in price/performance?

Terms, don't forget about me. I have to admit though, my upgrade fever passed 2 weeks ago. Very happy with my setup and not upgrading until Piledriver.

Jeez Don, liquid cooled quad SLI is going to be a beastly setup. The Antec 1200 isn't too great for water cooling, any plans to change your case?

Don, sorry about the little one, I know what it's like.

Also, you change hardware more than some people change their underwear lol, I'm jelly. You too Blackened. At least we can all buy pointless stuff (relatively) and not argue about red or green

I was looking at the Cosmos II but then Black will accuse me of trying to copy his build. Thankfully i won't be copying his ugly asus motherboard :whiste:

Dude, I love the cosmos II so much. It is so easy to work in, everything is screwless, it has tons of cable management, tons of room to work with, and awesome air flow. Oh-- best part -- you can fit a 360 rad up top for WC, and dual 240s at the bottom. And there's a ton of room in the front for a pump / res! Which is why I got it

It did cost a little too much and its big (48 pounds) but it is hands down the best case i've ever seen! You should definitely get one

Winters get cold here and it will be around that time. Spring I will have Haswell. Its the perfect plan for an upgrade path. LOL

I have a little hope here for AMD.

I thought it was 250 when its 350. No way. I'll waste money on GPU's but not on a freakin case.

Thought so

Don, real sorry to hear about the little one.

Don't feel bad about buying a Cosmos II. I've never looked back. Helluva case & I can't imagine it not supporting any configuration you need it to. I've got Tri 7970s with ease.

Yes, I love it! The cost is high but it is considerably better than anything else i've used. Any upgrade project in the cosmos II is many times easier and takes virtually no effort. The side panels swing open, no screws on anything, tool-less latches on everything in the case, and grommet holes / tons of cable tie down points everywhere for cable management.

Hell, even installing water cooling in the case is a cinch. Room for 4 rads without modding. I was looking at a friends corsair 800d and while it was impressive, this one is better hands down. (not to mention, the 800d requires modding for a 2nd 240 rad)

Don/blackened anyone of you getting the 7990 when its out?

I'd expect both of them to fetch it and some 7970's for tri or quad fire -_-

Damnit Karnage - your 7850 adventures made me go 7850.
Now i want a 670.

And now... i'm like ...is 670 going to be enough?!
There is better out there!!

Better keep myself in line til Big Kepler shows up.
