Personally, I'd switch the motherboard over to SLI, so you can make room for an SLI upgrade if you were to consider one in the future

looks good but the HD you should swap out and get two smaller ones if your going to use it for gaming. As your computer gets older you will get more and more crap on your HDD and the 7200 RPMs is a nice speed but you will still find yourself getting slower and slower load times. Especially on newer games like Oblivion and future ones. Just my opinion, but i find having two 80 GB hard drives beautiful for me but then i dont have X2 like you do lol. Good setup though

Yeah but, 2 hard drives would be expensive, and would it be smart for me to go dual core? because i need to make this thing a bit cheaper

if you are not overclocking. why the pc4000?

get a nice case.like the antec p180, or a lian li. why do people insist on putting nice computers in the ugliest cases known to man?

Its a nice system, but I would change the following.

Pick up an X1900XT, generally faster than the 7900 and has nicer IQ.

Pick up the Asus NF4 SLI Premium (has passive cooling and is dead sexy fast) i am not saying go SLI, but i think its a better board.

Get some nice Value PC3200 2GB Kit. The muskin is nice but PC4000 is pricy if you dont OC.

Switch out the hard drive with WD's 16MB cache version, should only be a few dollars more.

i strongly believe that both the 7900 and x1900 are good cards, but for a single card system i like the x1900 more. Also you dont need to have that SLI board, the Nf4 is fine, but i like the passive cooling and generally "higher quality" look and feel of the Asus premum.

I agree PC4000 is a waste...plus you should be aware that A64's like low latency not overall bandwidth.....you could have just as good performance with a low latency PC3200....beyond sissift sandra score it will do very little for you with the cas3....

Get the sapphire X1900XTX for 499$.It outperforms 7900GTX in high resolutions
and when AA is enabled plus it can do AA+AF together, something the 7900GTX
can't do.and it's got better image quality and will show its real potential in future
shader heavy games.

The X1900 and 7900 series have very close performance, but the X1900 has the edge of HDR + AA. If that's not important to you, then just go for whichever card you can find cheapest. And Crescent nice display of absolutely pointless fanboyism.

x1900xt or xtx if you're a baller. 1900xt can play the same exact games and settings as the 7900gtx but at better AA/AF settings and quality

Nice rig but I'd change the RAM to regular PC-3200 (DDR400) with good timings, e.g. Patriot, OCZ, Mushkin, Corsair, Kingston... If you're not OCing, you don't need RAM with nominal speed over 400 MHz. As for the CPU, even if you're not OCing, I'd change the 4400+ to 3800+. In practice, the additional 200 MHz and larger cache don't make a difference, at least in games launched in high settings.

Also, you don't need the A8N32-SLI board unless you want to buy SLI right away. If not, your choice is fine. You could also get one of the passively cooled Gigabyte nF4 Ultra boards. The logic "one card now, SLI later" is flawed. Both in terms of performance and money, it will be way better to sell the current card and grab a new generation one, instead of building SLI. Trust me.

i'm gonna have a lot of agreements with the previous posters but, nonetheless, here are my recommendations:

cpu: get the x2 3800. the 4400's price increase isn't worth it
mobo: the board you picked isn't bad. the epox 9npa+ Ultra isn't bad either
ram: do NOT get DDR500 ram. it's strictly for overclocking. get the G.Skill CAS 2.5 (2 x 1gig kit) ram for $146. good brand, good value ram
hdd: get the Western Digital SE16 (has 16mb cache)
gpu: get the x1900xt
psu: since you're not SLIing, the fortron 450w should be fine.

you should save a good few hundred dollars with these adjustments and your performance will be almost the same

If your are not going to overclock, there is no need for the PC4000 RAM. get some nice cheap value PC3200 RAM. Get a different case as that one is kind of ugly. Why do you need a floppy drive? those thing are as outdated as the dinosaurs. If you aren't going to go SLI, get the ATI X1900 as it's cheaper. I do suggest getting Windows XP Pro. as it does have ceratin features that make it worthwhile. u can get a cheaper PSU if you ain't into overclocking your hardware. and get a cheaper CPU. the performance increase from the 3800 to the 4400 isn't worth the price. that should help slighlty. Good luck!

ok ive changed my HDD and ram to some of the recomended ones and the case to a antec P180, now as for the video card, at most benchmarks the 7900GTX outpreforms the X1900XT and also what card will preform beter in the Future?

I personally think that your machine looks great, I would go for the nvidia easily over the ATI

it depends on what resolution you play at. if you play at 1920x1440 or higher, both the x1900xt and xtx outperform the 7900GTX. otherwise, in most of the other benchmarks, the x1900xtx beats the 7900gtx, even at lower resolutions. unless you SLI or Crossfire, the x1900xtx is a better buy. it's the same price as the 7900GTX at $500, too.

Stay with the enermax 535 watt, it's a fantastic power supply and will be enough for pretty much anything.
