Much harder.

well we are not going to open a discussion which is the most efficiency way to kill people. because thats not the point.

even with a maseta we can have a hight toll of victims. because school means classrooms means confide space and you can trap people in a space.

seeing in the movies how easy it is to take a knife from someone that does not mean it will happen in real life.

as for people attacking . really inside a building corridors plenty of blind spot for someone to moove around where is all this brave that would charge??? why noone ambush them in the corner while they make the turn attack them and take the gun away??

from the keyboard everyone is rambo and everyone was goign to charge and save the day. in real life all break the windows and run as fast as they can.

so how many brave people post in here that would charge???

if instead of gun he had a knife or sword would you charge to disarm him or you will kept running away???

No, but what does that have to do with anything? You were suggesting that explosives or poisons are viable alternatives to guns in the context of these mass killings. They simply aren't. That's it.

I'm really not going to spend much more time on this, but it comes down to theoretical vs practical. Certainly poisons/explosives COULD, but they just aren't as practical as guns (in this context). Guns are easier to obtain and use. Fairly simple.

There are 4,726 degree-granting institutions in this country. At 4,725 of them, no mass shooting occurred.

Yes, what happened is sad. But you shouldn't make policy based on what are statistically very rare events. In a country of over 300 million, a few are going to be evil enough or sick enough to do the worst thing you can imagine. I don't see anything shocking about it.

The anonymous postings....if that's real, I'd be happy with some of my tax dollars being spent tracking them down. Either they're stupid kids that need to learn about consequences or they're criminals that should be prosecuted.

well i agree with what you say but you have to admit it seems to have more incidents than in the past. at least we can angry in that that there is an increase in incidents. so the question is why?

i would'nt say guns are easier to obtain. Just easier to use. with chemicals/explosives you need to know what you are doing (though you can find that on the internet easy). Both have the ability to kill far more then you would with a gun. they are just rarely used.

banning guns is not the solution either. trying to do that would cause a LOT of deaths.

There is no easy solution. Society is trying. we are trying to stop bulling. We are trying to understand mental illness. I will say i think we are doing damage with how we TREAT people with it. Far to often the solution is to abondon those with illness.

though sadly I don't think we are ever going to end it from happening. to many reasons on why it happens

Why are we arguing about this? This is so simple its stupid. Ban guns. The Constitutional right is antiquated. There is no longer a need to hunt game or join a militia.

Good luck. There is plenty a need to hunt game where i live..

I would not consider myself to be an NRA backing crazy gun supporting person. I have more than a few firearms in my home and the only way uncle sam can have them is by pulling them from my cold dead hands. Police officers would be in harms way if they tried to do a gun grab. SO no, the solution is not that simple.

Sure, but this kind of angry...posting on forums, is pretty worthless. People will post with furious passion, and then lunch hour will be over and they'll go back to work.
This is terrible! Someone should do something!! Oh, look Aunt Mary posted a cute puppy video on her Facebook. Awwww.
We wring our hands, but what are we really going to do about it? Vote your conscience, absolutely. Donate. But the chit-chat is just fluff.

And this is not to minimize what happened. For those directly involved, it's truly a tragedy.

except that is not the only reason to have them.

as for the "need" to hunt. look up wasting disease in deer. Hunting IS NEEDED for the overall survival of the animal. also it's not hunting rifles people are using to do this.

I'm 5'6" and disabled. So you are saying i should do without a way to protect my family? My livestock? It takes cops 20 minutes to get here in a emergancy. we don't have city cops. what am i supposed to do? i can't go hand to hand with someone anymore.

Banning guns? how you going to get get them from people? you really expect everyone to turn them in? Or you know everyone that has them? how you going to get them.

the problem is the why
it is not the who or the how.

ban the gun you will change the how you will not. stop the killings. monitor a group then you will change the who. unless you address the real issue the WHY

was the person mentally insane and if so why the person was not locked in a hospital. but the insane is an easy label to just avoid to answer the WHY because many of the times was a normal person pushed off his limits and the person exploded.

its the same situation we see in divorce courts. the verdict is out mans looses everything to a slut, takes out a gun and kills the slut the lawyer and the judge. should he has react like that??? when you take everything someone is building all his life what you expect to do?? say thank you?

if society is unbalanced against a group, hostility form society will be dealt with hostility plain and simple

Thanks to gun threads I've learned that tons of ATOT'ers are actually hunter-gatherer-cowboys who live on massive remote Montana ranches teeming with mountain lions and wolves and must single-handedly protect and sustain all that surrounds them, most importantly the little lady and the young-uns, from atop their pony with nothing but their wits and a trusty rifle.

It's comforting to see this guy's face and life story plastered all over internet news sites today. This kind of publicity is for sure going to stop the next guy from repeating these actions.

1. IIRC, the estimates range from 100 million to 200 million guns out there. What are you going to do about those?
2. Do you know the process for repealing an amendment? You don't just pass a law saying "guns are banned" and you're done.
3. Who are *YOU* to say that a right is antiquated?

posted this in the P&N thread, but I'll post it here as well.

Scary as hell if it has any sort of correlation:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.c.../r9k/post/22785729/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

some of the responses telling him how to go about maximizing the kill count is quite chilling. Obama is right. I'm numb to this now. No amount of logic or rage will change anything. The gun lobby is too strong. People who hold their guns dear care too much about their right to own a firearm than others' right to live. So why bother getting worked up?

this is not a "you" problem. this is a "we" solution.
