It should never happen. That's the problem in America today. We've gotten so used to these things that we just shrug our shoulders.
i agree. WE should be doing more for mental health care anyway. but as a nation we tend to just cut them loose and them do whatever.
I shake my head in sadness. I fear something terribly wrong has happened to us as a culture; I have my own theories as to why these massacres occur, but in truth I have no clue. We can knee-jerk blame the existence of weapons, but I think we all know they are a symptom, and the cause lies much deeper.
IMO, the fact that there are so many guns available in America is frightening. You can say bullying is an issue, but kids are bullied in other countries and they don't have the mass shootings America has. When I was in South Korea I was surprised to find that bullying is a huge issue there. Yet, there isn't one case of school shooting.
There is no easy solution. The shooter doesn't care about the consequences. People are too selfish with their own lives to notice that something might be wrong with their next door neighbor. I mean seriously. How could someone like James Holmes booby trap his apartment without someone noticing?

Also in my country they freed all the mental into the cities because they need to reenter society. That a neighbor of mine is violent and every now and then goes into violent shock and hits and destroy anything in front of him. Does not matter we need him around us because !?!?!??!?

In the grand scheme of things these "massacres" are nothing but a blip. Far more people die of smoking and suntanning than "massacres". Yet we haven't banned guns, or tanning beds (or suntanning).
These "massacres" are also not really occurring more frequently. They also occur in other countries. Heck the guy who foiled the train shooting went to the same school. Where was the train shooting attempt? No the US.

What mental illness did they suffer from, if any?
When last time they got laid?
Video games played and which ones and how much time?
Last contact with friends or family before incident?
Unsure how to square the invasion of privacy here if we were to develop any kind of "minority report" solution to these crimes.
