Not really surprising. Oregon needed Dixon to win it; they lost him in the first. I'm surprised it was that close at the end.

Doubt it. OU will get their embarrassed by LSU in the national spotlight, if they make it there.

Yayyyy, Great job, Cats! I just got back from the game. There's no doubt Oregon would of won if Dixon stayed in the game, but they still had a good chance of winning, they just got outplayed. Offense was pretty sucky in the second half. Spencer Larsen is the next Tedy Bruschi. He's everywhere, and makes about every tackle. Cason is also going Pro after tonight.

Ducks fans at the game were pretty obnoxious, was great to see their faces near the end of the game though

a not so good texas team???? last time i checked, texas is the only team in the country to have at least 9 wins for each of the last 10 years.

oregon now has 2 losses so i guess their a not so good oregon team? and usc is a not so good team as well? how about florida? lol.

not so good texas team = 10 wins instead of 11 or 12.

it's not like they played a bad game against OU. the only made two mistakes, but one cost them the game, charles fumbling at the 3 yard line when going in for a td that would have given the horns a 7 point lead.

go watch the game and say they played poorly. this is definitely a jekyl and hyde team (seems to change quarter to quarter, didn't help that they've got a drop back passer and they're trying to run a zone read).

LSU is probably going to lose again as well.

They play Ole Miss and Arkansas...then in the SEC championship, probably Georgia. You really think any of those three teams can beat LSU? Okay...

LSU could easily have 3 or 4 losses...they've managed to escape with only 1 so far.

Last time I checked, a win is a win. LSU did win 3 out of 4 and the loss was a close one...tripple OT..and at the opponent's site..with a ranked team...unlike former #1s..at home to an unranked team (OSU, USC).

Now I am not saying LSU is perfect, far from it. They still have touch games with Ark and SEC Championship. All they have to do is play up to their potential, zero mistakes/penalties and they are unbeatable.

Anyone will pick an ugly win over a pretty loss anytimes.

even though this loss actually helps USC to maybe get a chance as the rose bowl, I feel for Oregon and Dixon, Dixon has been playing lights out all season and without him, Oregon are obviously not the same team, hope he can recover and help his team for their remaining games

OH WTF.

I go partying all last night and I miss out on OREGON?

Now Cal is not the ONLY ONE to defeat the ducks? Ugh. Dixon is the key in all games. In the games against Cal he threw interceptions left and right. If you think we had trouble with Jonathan Stewart, think again... Chauncey Washington ran us over. I think Oregon was a little overrated to begin with. Everything hinged on Dixon.

but usc > ucla so i win

Do the numbers 13-9 ring any bell

it does, but i think that game actualy hurt ucla, if they would have lost that game dorell would probably not be there for you guys now and ucla would be in better shape hehe

I guess rivalries just make people gloat too much. Hooray for 13-9. Who cares? fUCLA is the most OVERRATED TEAM EVER. How can you drop such ugly games to ARIZONA, WSU, UTAH, and ND?

The way UCLA loses everytime is a freaking BLOWOUT. They get completely destroyed. Ok, now that the injuries are a factor, I might say ok I can see why you're losing like mad now. There must be a reason why you were ranked #11 one week and dropped out the next week. KD needs to get FIRED big time. Somehow I find myself cheering for the Trojans everytime they take on UCLA, but I feel bad everytime I do it.

Do you know what the bowl scenarios are for USC now? I think they have to win out and hope Oregon loses a third game to win the Pac-10 and get into the Rose Bowl now. I'm not sure how the tiebreakers work, but since Oregon won their head-to-head game, I assume they have the tiebreaker over USC. So this loss seems to hurt USC, since if Oregon would have just won out and gone to the NC game, USC would be in the driver's seat for the Rose Bowl.

i dont think KU is going to beat Mizzou.

OU runs the table for their 8th NC. With almost the entire offense coming back, next year.

actually you maybe be right,
for USC to go to the rosebowl they need oregon go to the NC game or lose again, oh well, i guess at this point all they can do is win out and hope ucla (uhhh) knocks off oregon

i guess if both oregon and usc win out its not unlikely that usc gets an at large bid, we'll see

We were discussing Tie-Breakers amongst us Cal fans last time and it was mainly about the lower bowls. If Cal wins out, it will be tied with OSU (Oregon State) with a 5-4 Pac-10 record. Back when we assumed OU would take the BCS title game, Cal and OSU would be getting the Sun and Vegas bowls. Sun bowl = Pac-10 #3, and Vegas = Pac -10 #4. Because OSU beat Cal, one would think that OSU holds the edge.

However, for those bowl games, they follow conference standings as an order to select bowl participants unless there is a tie. My understanding is that Cal (8-4, 5-4) would be more attractive than OSU (7-5, 5-4) due to the larger audience a Cal game would draw.

Now I'm not entirely sure how the BCS would play out in this situation. The Rose Bowl is definitely going to be a tough matchup especially with ASU and USC showing down. UCLA is always in the game ready to screw up USC, and so you never know. Just know you have the Holiday Bowl at least =) Us Cal fans seem to love that bowl.... NOT. As for OU to lose to UCLA or OSU? I would say those are less likely situations than for USC to lose one more.

texas this season has had wins that you can either classify as either:

hella beautiful

or ugly wins.

as long as Jamaal hangs on to the ball, he's very good. I personally believe if texas could play Oklahoma all over again, texas would win. Next year is a time to shine for the longhorns.

btw, foxsports predicts longhorns will play usc in a bowl game, that would be something.
