Working in Ohio this week, I've seen gasoline go from $2.06 to $2.39 (in 4 days). This is for regular unleaded. Premium is now at $2.59 per gallon.

Woo hooo almost $3 a gallon here

Went up 30 cents today to $2.39

Thank you sir, may I have another

How is 2.39 almost 3?

That's at the lower off brand stations, name brand stations are at $2.59 to $2.69

I didn't realize there were fashionable places to buy gas. Has the GAP opened a gas station near your house?

There are off brands such as Discount Zone Vs Shell or Exxon.

Up another dime today to $2.59 for regular

Average price for regular passed an all time high of $2.31 per gallon (Per CNN). Demand was 2.5% higher than this time last year even with the higher prices. Mentioned that prices were still on the rise and would continue to do so.

I can't understand the continued high demand....you would think these higher prices would
have some kind of dampening effect on demand............

Larger credit card bills and smaller savings accounts.

You must be wetting yourself with excitement with the high gas prices.

And you're not? You know...fewer of the unwashed "liberuls" to deal with on the roads and in the stores (because they have no extra money).

I'd figured you'd be overjoyed over the prospects of it going MUCH MUCH higher!

7-11-2005 Gas Prices Surge to Record $2.33 a Gallon

Gas prices have hit a record high of $2.33 a gallon, pushed up by the climbing cost of oil

The $2.33-a-gallon mark ? a national average for all grades of gasoline ? narrowly surpassed the prior record of $2.32 set in April, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the semimonthly Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations around the country.

A stronger economy, she said, made the price "more absorbable" for consumers.=======================================================

No, it was approved by the Government.

"More absorbable"?? WTF?!?!

Tell that to my daughters' friends who are working minimum wage jobs. Several times lately I've heard her and her friends having trouble getting rides places because other friends don't have the money for gas.

Cool, just shy of $3 in California now

$2.35 to $2.87 swing in Gas prices in California 8-1-2005

Why do you thrive on bad news? I don't understand it.

What's bad about $3 gallon Gas???

Shirley you must be thrilled with Gas at that price, why would you not be?

Nobody would be thrilled with gas at that price. And stop calling him Shirley.

(FYI: Not to be a spelling nazi, but what you meant was "surely")

If we can manage at 5,4$ per gallon, so can you. No excuses.

The less you consume the longer it lasts anyway...

We're catching up to you. California will hit $4 while the rest of us are at $3.

Jumped 15 cents at most stations today, some jumped the price up to $2.39 for regular here.

I reported that they got the go ahead to go to $3 a gallon 3 weeks ago.

CA is FAR from 4.00 I live in a very heavy car area. About 2 hours from LA, and within 30 minute of places like Long Beach, Aneheim...and the bloddy 91

Gas is around 2.60s-2.70s here...I think it has a chance to break 3, but I don't see 4 anywhere around ehre and atleast travelinng around to the neighboring communities we are the most expensive (outlying neighborhoods around 2.40....SD was about 2.65 two weeks ago when I was there)

Bahahahahaha When we get near $3 you will be approaching $4. I've already seen reports of stations in California at and slightly over the $3 mark, I provided links, do a search.

Enjoy paying at the pump.

I dunno, I've never seen regular 97 octane for more than $2.25 here. It's been hovering between $2.09 and $2.25 for a long time. If that's what you call a march, I don't want to watch you call a parade. Just a bunch of people standing around.

The real world leader of Automobiles:

8-4-2005 Toyota working on 10 hybrid vehicles

Japan's Toyota Motor Co. said it was working on 10 new hybrid vehicles, after seeing sales of the environmentally friendly autos rocket in the United States.

Toyota was the first automaker to introduce a hybrid vehicle powered by a combination of gasoline (petrol) and electricity.

Two years after it was introduced, Toyota's hugely successful Prius still has a waiting list and some buyers are waiting more than six months for delivery.

"People are buying hybrids for good reasons beyond fuel economy," Press said.

"They realize hybrids are a simply way to make an important difference in curtailing foreign-oil dependence, air pollution, and greenhouse gases."

To meet its sales target, Toyota will have to add hybrid engines across its vehicle fleet, including trucks.

An average SUV will consumer 20 liters (five gallons) of gas over a 100 kilometer (62 mile) trip, compared to a hybrid which will take just four to five liters (1.1 to 1.3 gallons) of gasoline.
