Lots of tech, sales, and a few HR positions available. Some are consulting positions as well so reloc to KC may only be temporary. PM me if you want me to submit your resume internally. Good luck guys!

Check your PM

Check back on that later this week. On-campus w/ UCDavis at campus data center. We should be posting soon for 2 computer operator positions, official titles programmer I and II. Looking for UNIX and Windows (AD) sys admin exp. Not too much actually programming to be done besides some php and shell scripts but any exp/knowledge you have will look good. It doesn't pay much but any $$$ is better than no $$$. And it's a career position so yes, you get benefits.

SBC Datacomm is hiring (many people) for the 7 X 24 call center in Arlington Heights, IL (Western Burbs near Chicago).

They are hiring for all shifts.

These are Tier 1 positions, but we need Tier2 / Escalation Engineers as well and experienced candidates may be bumped up.

This is a "SPOC" (Single Point of Contact) center, so selected candidates will be handling circuit call-outs (Frame-relay circuits, ATM circuits, dedicated, etc.) as well as CPE (Customer Premesis Equipment - Networking stuff - routers, switches, firewalls (mostly PIX), Adtran Integrated Access Devices (TA624 / 850), etc.), IPT (IP Telephony - predominantly Cisco, Nortel, Avaya), and some wireless.

CCNA is pretty much the minimum, but I believe the CompTIA certs are also being considered. MCSE is helpful / desirable. Anything above that is a plus, from what I've heard.

Benefits are some of the best in the business, I don't know what pay scale is being offered.

Contact HR. I don't think the jobs are posted on the company web site, but you may be able to apply on the website as well (www.sbc.com).

(I have no "pull" with the hiring process, I just heard of the positions and thought I'd post)

Good Luck and better times for all.

Scott

It's in the torrance, CA area.

If you are still looking for a job in this area (computer sales, basically), PM me!

Thank You Rufio. You brought tears to my eyes this morning times two.
I said from the beginning that if this thread just brings one job it is worth it.

I know I should have posted an update on this sooner, but for some reason, it skipped my mind.

Depending on your skill set, some of the companies that develop S/W for the casinos have openings.

Very few casinos have IT openings.

Some IT work also exists in supporting Nellis AF base both in systems support and S/W support.

Some of the medical centers at times have IT work openings.

I'm a freshman at NJIT pursuing an IT major. I feel good about being in college at this time because with the economy on a slow re-growth, I won't have to worry about finding a real job for quite a few years. I don't have any job experience, but I am hoping to find an internship or anything related to IT in order to gain exp. So if anyone has some job openings/internships in the summer time let me know

Get a list of companies in the geographical area that you would like to intern in. Also, contact the chamber of commerce in those areas.
Start contacting them; find out who is in charge of the HR for the company; Then from that person try to locate what departments may use interns.
Contact those departments for interest.

A lot of leg work and effort will be required.

The school may also have a list of companies in the immediate area that use interns.

Ummm... I don't know how much help this will be to anyone, but British Columbia is expected to be needing roughly 25,000+ people in the IT industry in the next decade... Programmers and Networking people.

Don't know if anyone is interested in Canada, but it is a nice place to live

Our department is hiring. Currently we have QA Design Engineer position open, but more engineering positions should open soon. You need to know Java, and it'll be nice if you have experience with MQ series, J2EE and C/C++.

The company is Bristol but the position hasn't been added to the web site yet. If anybody is interested let me know.
