I think we're also looking for a Senior Software Engineer.

just go to the lockheed martin website and send your resume online.

good luck!

Not to knock the position, however, Lockheed has had problems with getting information from the on-line resume system out to the proper people. You should contact the actual hiring manager with your information if you are fully qualified for the position.

Someone inside Lockheed can pull that info for you via the internal Lockheed job site.

I had the same problem with lockheed when I was in college. Had the on-campus interview, went great, he called me a day later and said to schedule an interview with them on-site in Florida.
I call up Lockheed to schedule that interview...and they take all my information down AGAIN and say "we'll let you know if we have any matching positions". I said "uhh I interviewed with so-and-so and he asked me to come for an interview". She said we don't have a record of that interview so you'll have to go through the normal process.

Needless to say I didn't pursue it

Anyone with any leads for the RTP, NC area please PM me. I've got a BS and MS in Computer Engineering. Co-op experience in software development, testing, and tech support. Also been working the past few years doing technical support for laptops (IBM thinkpads and Dell's mainly). Just graduated with my MS, so entry level positions are fine, anything to get my foot in the door.

My employer, Washington Mutual Bank has positions open for Network Engineers / System administrators in Seattle, WA and Sacramento, CA. These jobs are in one of our subsidiary companies, which run stand-alone networks, not the big monster corporate network, although you get all of the benefits for working in a big company. The IT groups in the two cities each have ~5 people in them, so you get an idea of the size of the organization.

They want people with knowledge of Win2K/AD, network technologies and general IT duties.

Here is a link to the Seattle job on Monster.com. The job in Sacramento is identical.

For that matter, you can go to the main wamu.com job opportunities site and look through there. Right now, there's 73 openings for IT folks (and a LOT more in other areas). Most IT jobs are in Seattle, LA (Northridge) and Chicago, although there are some random ones scattered around.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll try to talk to you about what it'll take to get in the door. I know quite a few people around the bank and am willing to try to help AT'ers that need a break.

Hi Garion and others AT'ers !

I am a new AT'er, and appreciate the solidarity of this forum as you try to help AT'ers to get a IT job.

I will study Business in London next year as first year student of a Master of Science in International Management.

The fist quarter 2005 is dedicated to internships and I am thinking about working in USA as my brother has already been there for 3 years. He lives in California but I am keen in discovering your country and ready to go where I can get a nice job in a financial department.

I do not especially ask for a placement, but I am waiting for your comments. Are internships for students widespread in US companies ? In Europe (France and UK), it is quite common and represents a great opportunity to get a practical experience and discover different jobs.

Thanks,
Kad

Best bet is to contact the large financial institutions as soon as possible and explain what you are trying to do.

If the US has a branch in the UK, then I would go to the branch and talk to them.

Sorry, it wasn't a real job, no benefits and certainly won't pay the rent.

On paper and in theory maybe it looks OK but that is not the reality. I won't go into detail but let's just say "Billable" Hours does not a living make.
