The last thing the Pakistani government wants is a civil war where most of the population supports the Taliban/Al Qaida. I assume that's why they are so careful in what they say about it. As most of the population doesn't seem to respond badly to his death the government now states more and more that they knew about it. If the population had responded badly they'd probably have denied more, and I assumed that this was agreed on with the US government too.

It's interesting that we'd feel the need to stick to Islamic tradition when Islam (the mainstream version of it and not the radical version of which OBL was a part of) pretty much disowned OBL and said that he was not a true Muslim. I do not know this person everyone calls Osama Ben Laden. I have seen in the media that others believe him to be a bad person. People have claimed that he was the brains behinds many deaths. I do not know this for sure, and the media has a long history of being wrong. Are we supposed to just go out and kill anyone whom we believe to be a terrorist? Homeland Security believes there are lots of terrorists right here in the US. What happened to a trial like we had for Saddam Hussein? We captured him and he had a trial. We could have just as easily killed Saddam. Why is Osama different? Why was it necessary to kill him instead of capture him? Wouldn't the information he had of been important if he was truly the leader of a terrorist group? If some other county believes that you or some other US citizen is a terrorist, should they be allowed to sneak over here and take you out in the middle of the night? Why does our Constitution not work both ways? This is wrong and glorifying over this is what will make our nation weak. This was obviously a political act solely to score points, nothing more.
