Osama has some Uranium?

This was really scary to me.

I heard on MSNBC about an hour ago. Lester Holt said that some sources in the mid-east said that Bin Laden was looking to get a hold of some Uranium about a month ago? He said that they were planning some type of nuke that could be put into a suitcase.

This would be really fvcked up if he got a hold of some uranium and managed to set it off.

Can anyone confirm this story on MSNBC??

god, your tellling me. It took me about 1,000,000 US and about 2 months to find a fully functioning nuclear weapon. I thought that it was waaay too easy.

Yeah I know the blueprints for an atomic bomb can be gotten off the internet.

But the whole problem I thought, was getting a good enough grade uranium that would set off a chain reaction.

If he gets some good uranium....then we're fvcked.

FYI - they kind of technical knowledge and equipment needed to build a full scale nuclear weapon that would fit inside a suitcase is barely available within the U.S. governments scope of knowledge. And BTW uranium isn't the only thing one needs to build a nuke.

Uh? you can get uranium almost anywhere, it not like it's some substance you have to kae or something, just dig it up. Im sure it's alot easier to get some old Soviet nukes from the 60's than to make one yourself.

Ok people I loved the movie Swordfish as well, but lets get down to reality for a second. How many countries are nuclear powers? Not that many. Sure there may be a couple that we don't know about, but you can't just grab $20 million, logon to Ebay, and get a nuke.

If Bin had nukes he'd of used them by now. Nuclear weapons are very very difficult to get.

Untrue. Difficult, no. Expensive, yes. Bin Laden may be a $300 million plus dollar terrorist, but his extensive organization and other activities consume an incredible amount of money. It's not as simple as throwing a nuke into a suitcase.

I am much more afraid of bio/chem weapons. I heard you can buy some germs like antrax from some american labs for a few hundred dollars, no question asked just a credit card.:Q
