OT: Attention Shoppers: TechSavings = EMS?

I hope this isn't out of place here. I know many of you have reported problems with some fairly recent orders from EMS Computing, so I wanted to post this.
While I personally have never had a real problem with EMS, I noticed that my card was charged by EMS, seemingly for an order I placed at TechSavings (WAP & card). The amount that was charged to my card is eaxctly the amount I spent at TechSavings, and there is no charge from TechSavings. The order seems to have been shipped (I'm expecting it here on Monday), but the hold time for their customer service is either waaay long or they're just not there.

Just wanted to let everyone know. . .Sorry if this has already been posted or is a well known thing.

OUCH. ordered a case from them last week. it was OOS but just got email that it shipped. hope all is OK

FYI, if you have to begin your post with "I hope this isn't out of place" or something of that nature, 99% of the time, your post IS out of place.

thanks for the heads up Igo and i'm sorry that 90% of the people on these forums are ASSHATS that bitch and whine about everything. This is very useful information for this forum.

I poseted this about a month ago... MY buddy bought a set of Z-560's from TechSavings.com and was suprised to get charged by EMS Computing. Even more suprised because a week earlier, EMS Computing canceled his order for Z-560's with Free shipping............. not cool. I think EMS is trying for a fresh start evidently according to the post about the $5 coupon circulating in some people's emails.

Good to get this heads up though. -TAL

Ya, I got the email for $5.00 coupon. I had ordered a battery for my Canon S100 and it came used...now a used battery is just not right. So I had to do the whole damn RMA thing and threats. This all ended up in them cancelling the order because they now no longer carry such battery. 6 months later I get a charge back on my card (only took 5 emails which I think went unread). EMS is so lame. I ended up losing $$ on returning the damn thing.

They should not even be in business. Now I don't even bother with this little shops...not worth the time or hassle or $$$.

EMS = Scumbags. Never, ever deal with them. :|

I got the $5 coupon e-mail from them. This is the reply I sent...

After the way you guys handled my last order I don't think I'll be taking you up on that gift certificate. I still get a foul taste in my mouth whenever I see the name EMS. You do realize don't you that after all the crap I went thru with you guys (charging my CC, cancelling my order, not issuing a refund in a timely manner, me having to jump thru hoops to get my bank to reverse the charges, etc)...I never even received an apology from you guys.

It's kind of funny really....my order was cancelled because "we will be unable to ship in a timely manner". That's what the reason given was. Then, my money was kept for weeks (money which I had to pay interest on, thank you very much), a refund wasn't issued in a TIMELY MANNER!


I've never been fvcked so bad (and treated like sh!t so bad) by anybody as I was by them, and I was happy as hell every time I saw there rating drop a point on ResellerRatings.

Don't let some of the people in this forum get you down. Personally, I knew that these two companies were one in the same from my readings in an old thread. However, you would have to dig long and hard to find the thread. However, thanks for advising us about this/these companies. Clearly, people were messed over royally by EMS -- so, why would anyone head to TechSavings and make a purchase with so many other great vendors out there?

If anything, maybe the silly people running TechSavings will stumble upon this thread and realize just how popular they are. Hey, here's an idea: we would send them an E-mail with an invitation to view the thread where it's been noted that their name change couldn't fool the members of AT.

Having read their feedback on ressellerratings last night, I noticed that someone had posted about this same thing. There are plenty of dissatisfied customers, and so much as a simple look at their profile and one would reach the conclusion that it's best to stay away. Posing as someone else certainly won't help their credibility.
