OT: Becareful Voodoo wont make anymore drivers

I saw Nvidia denied the memo about supporting the 3dfx's driver somewhere.

I believe you guys got new driver from x3dfx, but check their homepage now, and you will see how long they can run.

IMHO, nvidia cards are far slower than 3dfx. The reason nvidia bought 3dfx is NOT they wanted good technolegy. Instead, nvidia simply wants to make sure 3dfx is dead. They won't use 3dfx's chip. And I see no reason they will support 3dfx's cards.

In the last day or so I've heard that Nvidia may be canning NV25 and jumping straight to 3dfx "FEAR". There appears to be 2 main reasons for this.
1).Apparently Nvidia are getting a little nervous about Radeon2 being far in advance of NV20.
2).Nvidia were shocked at how far in advance of them "FEAR"3dfx future hardware was! This has also reinforced the idea that ATI may also have something up their sleeve!
If rumours are to be believed then Nvidia has switched a whole load of their engineers over to work on fear, instead of NV25.
btw I will look for links, however I have read this on several tech sites so it should be easy to trace.

Just imagine if the Geforce3 **was** the 3dfx "Fear" chip......

I heard rumors at Beyond3D that there would be 3dfx technology in NV25, but I didn't hear that it was simply Fear...hmm

Voodoo never made any drivers. They had 3dfx do it fore them.
