Well with that said, people with those voodoo5's, you better sale it NOW!!!! for CHEAP!!!! give'em to me. PM me if you got something cheap . OEM's are now $114.00 if i'm not mistaken.
btw nvidia will still be releasing new drivers for 3dfx cards up until some time in 2002 so you have a while to play with your 3dfx cards. probably by that time anyways most of us will have upgraded to bigger and better cards.
Yea, with Power Color and Creative Lab's selling Voodoo4 boards in which Nvidia is supplying the VSA-100 chips for, you'd think some sort of driver support will continue. Nvidia is also supplying VSA-100 chips to Quantum3D.
didnt nvidia specifically mention they are not liable for ANY driver support for voodoo line of cards? if there is anyone to continue the work, its got to be none other than the x3dfx crew...
Well that's before they decided to sell VSA-100 chips to companis like Creative...perhaps Creative Lab's will update their drivers, but I have a feeling they will ask Nvidia to do it. Perhaps maybe contract a driver company like x3dfx or metabtye to do it.
Not being funny or anything, BUT I've had 3 different driver revisions for my voodoo5 since 3dfx went tits up! Now thats more new drivers in 2 months than 3dfx released in 6!
So much for all those doom merchants. The Voodoo5 is by far the best value card out there at the moment, especially if 3rd party manufacturers start producing.
I got mine for less than the price of a GF2mx!!!!
ehhh... i beg you to differ... radeon le - essentially the same thing as the 32ddr version - is goin for $82 shipped, so v5 is hardly the best vaule, altho it is a solid product at its goin rate.
OMG Your Kidding! Bankrupt?
Did someone buy them out?
Or did they sell out to a company like ATI?
LOL OK Enough of that,if you have a V5 I have been using a tweaked version from IceMan on the X3DFX boards. Nice blend of old and new driver sets, for me anyway.....
OMG this news is over 2 months old. I was able to pick up a Voodoo4 real cheap at OD when the news of this was first released. Funny thing is that Best Buy still has a Voodoo3 3000 on the shelf for $99. Who are they kidding?
