$1.78 last time for 89 octane. 89 is cheaper in Iowa because it's Ethanol and the govt. subsidizes it.

It's all just a ploy to get us used to paying this new higher tier.
Couldn't agree with you more

was 1.699 wednesday, jumped to 1.719 thursday.
That figure is for the stations in the high-competition area closer to town.
Out here in the boonies off the intestate they are asking 1.799 to 1.829.

Yikes!

I run a delivery vehicle for my business, appx 3k miles/month at about 18 mpg thats ~170 gallon/month or ~$300.00/month !

and people wonder why i sometimes bump prices a buck or 2 .

gotta pay the oil companies, tricky bastards got us all addicted to driving everywhere, now they're gonna bleed us dry.

I really don't know what u US ppl are complaining about. I pay 1.20? per litre here in Germany, that is like 4.5$ per gallon. Now how's got a reason to really whine, ha?

being as the US imports six times the amount of oil Germany does on a daily basis , I don't see why the prices aren't $0.75 per gallon

It's about $1.79 here in Duluth, Minnesota and what's strange is that we have a refinery close by and our prices are still high.

Hey Zbox, what do you drive that has a 454? I had a 70 Elcamino with a 396. Sold it and bought my 928.

But German beer costs 5x here what it does there! And the US probably consumes more of that than Germans do gasoline!

Paying around 1.72/gallon here in N.Vermont. I always tank up before heading up to Montreal as it's so freakin' expensive there! Lots & lots of taxes in Quebec on the gas....

That doesn't count. What's the average persons/square km in Germany compared to the US or even Canada? If you can't walk where you're going you can probably bike it!

Damn, I've never seen it quite that high in Ontario. It's hovering around $0.80 here right now which is about as high as I've ever seen it.

~$5,- for one gallon in Europe
It's about ?1,15 to ?1,20 for a liter. So that would be even more then $5..
Didn't vote though, cause I'm not living in the US, unfortunatly

I could show you a place around here where there are two gas stations within 3 miles of each other. One has gas for $1.899 and the other is at $1.729. Now tell me they aren't fixing prices.

BTW around here Speedway is always the cheapest although Pilot and Arco are pretty low too.

Paying ~$1.79 here in Alaska.

Strangly, there's a Tesoro and a Williams 2go store in a town a half hour from here. Stores are literally across the street from each other and have a $.10 price difference (I don't remember which is cheaper, think it's Williams).

I don't usually keep track of hte prices tho, just prepay my $18 and fill it up and move on. Would be too depressing otherwise. Nice to see that Alaska is low to average on pricing tho. We pay more for everhthing else (all the free shipping deals that I can't take part in at newegg )

Ha... varying prices so close to each other sounds like competition, not price fixing...

How about every single station in the city at the exact same price? How about everyone raising the price within one day of each other? How about Arco moving in, lowering the price (everyone else follows suit) multiple times until they figure out how it works, then raising back up to the same level as everyone else was (at which time everyone else raises too)?

Now that sounds like price fixing

has been over 2.00 for about 2 months. did drop to 1.99 at am/pm 2 days ago but back @ 2.03 today.

Not a happy camper, but so what they say LOL
