<< Has anyone noticed that as a result of the sheer number of deals and generic nature of his posts, Jokersmoker is immune from simple criticisms that most deal hunters face? I definitely appreciate and admire his work but let's face it, none of his deals are hot. And none require any engineering of any sort which limits their hotness as well. I am really curious how he decides what to post. If you notice almost all his posts come from 3 places - Amazon, Target, or Kay B Toys (sp?). Of those he picks out clearance or outlet items. But I don't know why he decides to post say a toaster on clearance when he could post a hammer also on clearance. He is mysterious man. It's also interesting how he follows a very strict formula when posting deals and never looks back unless there is a major problem like a broken link. As for the criticisms I mentioned earlier, if anyone else posted the stuff he posts, I think most of us would get flamed. >>
The point is,
#1 Would any of us have found the deal had he not posted it? (no-people don't look, he does all the leg work)
#2 Do people find it useful? (yes, there are always plenty of responses testifying to that fact)
Thus, how not a hot deal?
Personally, I far prefer his "type" of hot deal to all that MIR & PM & PSOFA & RADGI crap. That stuff takes too much time & effort. I just want the cheapest price something I am looking for is readily available for and thats exactly what he delivers.
Now, thats not to say I'm not gonna use an X off XXX coupon and send in a rebate for something I need, but I'm not printing out receipts and arguing with managers and calling my credit card company etc, etc. I really don't see those things as hot because of all the work it takes. I mean, if you save $20, but it takes you three hours of work to do, you didn't really save any money (unless you work for free on a regular basis).
Besides people who B&M like that can ALWAYS get things a little cheaper. Problem is they give themselves heart attacks by the time they're 35 and nobody likes them...
