Personally, my method is basically:
1; Copy from stats-site and paste into Excel.
2; Copy from Excel, and back to Excel, choosing "Paste Special" / "Values". -- Doing it this way the data in the various columns and so on is correct, but all "garbage" is filtered-out. Note, if this works or not depends on stats-web-site, it example doesn't work with BoincStats, that still leaves-behind a lot of garbage.
3; Sort descending by total credit, afterwards move team-names up (that is sorted to bottom in own column), and fix SETI@Taiwain that has some unsupported characters in their name.
4; Copy-in yesterdays stats, and check if any teams has moved. (if "new team-name" = "yesterdays team-name";0;9999) makes it very easy to spot any differences.
5; Move "RAC" and "Total" to new locations, and delete all unneeded columns.
6; Copy-in the formula from yesterdays stats that does all calculations and 99% of formatting.
7; Choose whole sheet, and select "numbers, thousand-seperator, no decimals".
8; Copy over to notepad, copy the 1st. "tab", and choose "replace" to remove all the tabs.
Appart for TeAm AnandTech getting bolded, and any "extreme" values, like 1M days to overtake or less than 1k in any columns, the stats is fully formatted.
So, just needed to make a forum-post, add "header", "footer" and "title", and dig-out any news/technical news.
The SETI@home-stats takes roughly 5 minutes to collect, format & post, a little longer if any news to add...
With the mediocre interest in the stats, only reason is still doing them is the short time needed to post them.
