Update:

Well, everything went about as well as it possibly could! Kevin is doing great (although a little groggy) and is already enjoying popsicles! We won't know how much it will help him out long term for a few months, but the surgery itself seems to have been a smashing success. My wife is staying with him at the hospital, and he should be released tomorrow morning.
