I got 80/100 on my physics exam, which was a decent bit above average.

(let's not talk about the other exams, though)

Oh, and it's the weekend, yay!

Yesterday my son destroyed an almost new keyboard yesterday by spilling O'Boy on it: it does not work, looks terrible. It was one of there multimedia-jobs with a lot more buttons and dials than the standard keyboard
I did not get mad and yell and such, but told him he would have to use a old keyboard - until we would buy a new one and that I'd give him a chance to work it off.

Woke up this morning (07:45 local time) to the sound of somebody vacuum'ing. Went back to sleep an hour more. Went up, saw that breakfast was on the table, the basement (4 rooms and hallways) was vacuumed, all trash and dust gone and washer started. My son - did I tell you he is just 10 years old - was watching TV. He had left a note at my place: Dad, you know I am sorry for the keyboard. I'll be more careful. Please see my work downstairs as the first installment for working my debt off. I'll do this for three week more - is that OK? Love you"

I went and told him that one more time would be sufficient. I am so proud of this little guy ...

I don't know. You don't want to beat his spirit down too much. He sounds obediant, but he has to eventually leave home you know.

Well ... obediant ... I don't know. Normally he is somewhat of a "Tom Sayer" ... and I like it that way.
I think what made him do it is the fact that i took it so calmly. I talked to him when we were cleaning out the keyboard together. He said something like: "If you are visibly angry then it is not so bad. But if you are calm, then I know that you are really angry ... because you control yourself so much." Out of the mouth of childeren ...

I am quite sure that he will manage very well when he will leave home. He also still has his puberty ahead of him. /petrus shudders/. And he wants to do military service - which is quite good for guys and gals.

Well I am proud of him anyway: he knew when something really mattered.

Btw: the keyboard works perfectly ...
