OTC Allergy meds?

What are you guys taking for allergies that's not prescribed?

Claritin. I haven't taken much else besides sudafed and benadryl before, but Claritin pretty much eliminates all symptoms without any side effects. I have minor indoor allergies, but suffer the most from springtime/outdoor allergies.

Benadryl and Afrin nose spray seem to work for me as needed for flare up symptoms

If it persists for a few days I take Claritin D but double or triple up the dosage taking a 24 hour pill every 8~12 hours.

Not over the counter, but get a prescription of Flonase. It costs $80 for the generic, but it takes IMMEDIATE effect, as opposed to OTC sprays which can take two weeks to start to work, and require 2-3 sprays per day, vs. Flonase only needing one. For itchy eyes, it's a good idea to use a knock-off of Claritin as well (Target's self-brand is particuarly cheap and just as effective).

I can't stand nasal sprays

I've been using Loratadine and it's been relatively effective.. but I can't find anything that has a decongestant as well. The shelves don't even have a space for claritin D half the time.

Awesome thanks, I think I'm going to try Claratine/Loratadine and see how that goes

My biggest issue is when I go outside, however it's still an issue inside and really prohibits me from doing many things. Spicy food clears it up for a little bit of time, but then it comes back pretty quickly.

Pollen looks like shards of glass. Would you feel better if someone gave you a pain killer if you had a piece of glass in your eye or would you feel better if someone removed the shard?

astelin is prescribed, but worth its weight in gold.

it makes me drowsy half the time and gives me dry mouth all the time but it really clears my sinuses.

Does claritin give you jitters or keep you from sleeping? I heard that from someone a while back.... My allergies are raging and I am trying to figure out what to take.
